Gatchaman Idol

The birdies have all been picked to be in a reality show/singing competition (either for real or as part of an undercover mission). What songs or genres do you think your favorite birdies would sing? Who would win?

And would Jun get bonus points for playing guitar while she sang? Maybe she'd do a Fiona Apple song, like Criminal.

Somehow, I can see Joe doing AC/DC. And Ryu would do country of some kind. Ken would whistle Dare Da, being too embarrassed to sing.

I don't know why, but when I think of Jinpei singing, that pic of him as a rapper, which Springie likes to show us from time to time, keeps coming to my mind! Hence, Jinpei could rap, maybe accompanied by Ryu, who would join in the venture for some fun! Or, maybe, the Owl would surprise us with a tenor's voice like Pavarotti's!!

I agree with the fact that Ken would be too embarrassed to sing, so, although he's the No. 1, this time he'll surely not be the winner, even if he tried! His usual whistling would really be his only option!

I, somehow, imagine Joe singing the style of Brian Adams, with that kind of hoarse, sexy voice, and a song sung from the heart!! For me, he could well be the winner!

Last, but not least, there's Jun! I agree with Gatchgirl regarding the country style music for her, together with her guitar. Moreover, I could also imagine her singing ABBA style! I don't know if it makes sense, but it's the way she dances that makes me think this way!

If so, I could see either Joe or Ken doing dancing, ok, maybe Joe more so...



In the end, I think of the 5 doing what I've pictured them doing, I think it would come down to Jun and Ryu in the end, with Ryu taking the prize....


Still for whatever reason, I'm still trying to picture what Ken might do... can't picture him singing at all.

BotP team: sorry, can't really picture any of them singing; well, maybe Princess, but that's about it. And no, I do not want to listen to Keyop rap.

OAVs: Not sure about the others, but yeah, I can see this Joe doing anything metal

Original Japanese cast: again, not sure about the others, but give Joe any ballad and he'll win hands down.

ADV cast: again, I'd put my money on Joe (even though I haven't heard Brian Jepson sing, I do know thanks to the dvds what he has supposed to have done), so I'd like to hear him sing either Revolution or Hey Jude (the only Beatles' songs I really like).

I could see Ken being embarassed, but if a mission dictated that they enter a singing contest I think his sense of duty would compell him to sing... something. With his big blue eyes and shaggy dark hair, he could probably rake in the teenaged votes by dressing in black and singing something angsty and emo.

Joe, I agree, would go for a rock song, something with some swagger to it. I love the idea of "I can't drive 55"!

Jun I see doing something that's upbeat, danceable pop and as I figure she's the Ninja with the most musical ability and experience performing, she would probably win (plus Ken and Joe would be competing for the same voters -girls who vote for the hottest guy- and cancel each other out to some degree).

Ryu I see doing something country/folky, probably because he's from a small fishing village and I think he would have a small but very devoted following.

I could see Jinpei deciding he wants to be a rapper, but I suspect he wouldn't get a lot of votes!

I didn't say he'd like it! I think Ken would do what he thought might get votes -he's competitive- and it would be shrewd strategy to differentiate himself from Joe.
