CD, I've read your other stories. They are not boring!

RI, remember the story you were talking about a few weeks ago, this idea would work perfect with it just as UW suggests.

Meridian, power supply problems can be fixed rather easily. Heck, I think you can take it to most computer stores that do work on them and I'd be wiling to be they can recover most of the data on your hard drive for you.

Maybe I should find another word then .... like hmmmm, mundane or prosaic come to mind. Words my teachers and professors used to describe my "creative" work.

Words that made me give up writing. (Sorry their voices still ring loudly in my ears when I think about my work especially when I think about having to POST my work.)

Did they laugh at you? One of mine did, not because of my argument or support, but because the spell check was worse than it is now and it missed several words that I also missed in my rush to met the deadline for the student paper. What's worse, while she was laughing at me, she told the rest of the faculty was laughing, too.

No THEY did not laugh at me, but my high school peers did when they heard the comments.

Thank you for the advice, Amethyst. Most of the time I try to ignore them. Hey I am now writing again. But when it comes to having to post, then they come back and roar in my ears.

Okay, here's the problem. Not that I wouldn't like to write the story, or anything, but....

I have no idea where to post it...or how...and I keep reading about things called beta (which I only know as either a fish or the really old videotapes that came out before VHS).

I'm still thrilled that I can just post this message...!

And UW, for this is you pound The only way people would read about Red Impulse is if I treated him like the enemy. There's no way people would read a story that's sympathetic to him.

Heck, people are willing to give Berg Katse more benefit of the doubt than Red Impulse! Sigh.

RIGirl, write the fic. Then, ask someone you know and trust (perhaps someone from this board) to read it over for you. This person will make plot suggestions, and/or grammar and spelling notes. This is called beta'ing. After you've had that other person beta/edit it, then they can help you get it posted too.

RIGirl, I'm trying to figure out Kentaro so that I can give him a more sympathetic treatment. Not doing so well. Probably because I can't figure out where in the Galactor organization he's undercover, and what he's doing. He's in Hontwarl, he's working his way through the ranks, but I can't get any farther.

This is a man who left his wife and child to go undercover. Why did he make that decision? What happened to him while he was undercover? Is that why he's such a jerk-ass?

I answered a challenge on this site and wrote a short piece called 'Kentaro's Sacrifice'. About his last days. Some people liked it, some people still thought he was a bastard.

RIgirl, you could post it here, or on Gatchfanfic. Several of the people on these boards have work there!

And as for people not liking the guy in Red -pbbbt. First, you write Cronus/RI very very well.

Second, good writing is good writing. A good story is a good story. I've read many many well-written stories where I didn't necessarily like all the characters. What mattered was being able to understand them, why they do what they do whether it's good or bad. One of the first things to draw me to anime and manga was that the characters had reasons for their behavior. Being able to understand a character, regardless of how negative they are, is important.

I know you can make a wonderful fic. Go for it! Nike

Honestly UW? I never had the impression that it was his choice to leave or stay. Which would explain why he took it out on...just about everybody in reach. By the time he re-enters Ken's life, I think he was completely disgusted and through with it all, but by then he was in too deep and couldn't just walk away.

The fact that Onishii and Masaki remained loyal to him through it all...and even after he died (which brings up another point--if his whole mission was the V-2, then it should have ended when he died. But it didn't. Masaki later told Ken that they took it upon themselves to pick up where Kentaro left off, which means he got more thrown at him as time went by, or things got waaaayyy more complicated than Nambu originally thought it was), which proves that he couldn't have been as bad as he let everyone think he was.

I have to refute that RIgirl. There are a lot of people who would love to read a sympathetic story about RI, I would Mostly because it is great to read something different and something that opens up my eyes to another way of thinking.

Yes it is nice to treat RI as an antagonist to the team, because there needs to be one in the story to advance some of the story lines and because the hero needs to have one (or two, as far as I am concerned). But seeing a more caring side to him is also nice because it gives another reason WHY he would be "pushing" our hero so hard.

Please write and post your stories about RI for ALL to read.

#1 Where to post? That's easy! Post it here. Gatchfanfic is a very good archive. Adultfanfiction and Fanfiction.net allow anybody to post. Chaos at Sycophant Hex accepts a wide variety of fandoms and original work. Should I list more?

#2 What is a beta? Think of a beta reader like an editor. Some are fangirls that just give encouragement, but a good beta will not only give you encouragement, but help you to make your story better by pointing errors that had been missed, plot holes or inconsistencies, ideas that need more fleshing out (or maybe ones that need less).

If you need a beta, RI, I will happily do it for you.
