I do appreciate the condor pics, but it really isn't my birthday.

Actually I kind of like my birthday in a morbid sort of way (yeah, explains a lot). But I missed my grandfather's birthday by an hour (I never met the man, he died when my father was 13; so it's a bit of connection to it).

But more infamously, the very day was the eleventh anniversary of one of American music's most tragic days. I tell students that it's the eleventh anniversary of the day the music died. They'd get 10 extra credit points if they get the full context of it.

If you're asking me what The Day The Music Died means, then yes I do know. It's when Richie Valens, The Big Bopper, and Buddy Holly all died in a plane crash together.

Awesome. It's a very popular day to be born. A close friend in RL was also born on that day. We met in a stats class and the professor got upset that we blew his demonstration. It was supposed to be statistically improbably that out of thirty people two in the class would share the same birthday. We not only had the same day, but the same year. We've been causing trouble together ever since.

Oh, wow! It didn't even show up on my FB page. Yeah, we do have the same first name, so it's an easy mistake to make. I even accept that spelling variation. Though, I also like Terrie. The only one I don't particulary like is Terry. Although, a sure way to get my dander up is to put an a on the end of my full-name.
