Worse, it's a Kia as right now I can't afford the Fords that I would want. Overall, I've been fairly lucky in the cars that I've owned, one major lemon, that was a Plymouth, so long as I keep them away from my hubby. He is clueless about cars.

I wish I could afford to sell mine. It's got 150k miles on it, so it ain't worth much and have no money for a newer car. Since we still need a family my Mustang is out of the question, but wouldn't mind looking at Nissan's Murano or Chevy's Tahoe hybrid as pipe dreams.

It doesn't go down very often, but when it does, it goes down big. The first time, we were lucky the whole electrical system shorted out and it was still under warrenty. We still have a few bugs, but nothing major or that affects the operation of the vehicle. The last one in October was a big one.

Right now, we are being nickled and dimed with my parents old Lincoln that my hubby drives. I don't like the car. The hood should not be longer than the cabin!

The secret to cars lasting is not the brand, but the maintenance. That doesn't mean follow factory specs to the letter, but learn your car and keep the fluids changed regulary everything three to six months depending upon age and how often and type of driving you do. Replace belts and hoses when they show signs of wear and take notice of which ones wear out faster.

As Jun pointed out above about his friends Kia, same make as mine, the Serpentine belt goes often. The original lasted nearly as long as factory specs suggested. The replacements have worn out faster and it is pain to change.
