The girls were measured using more traditional methods to see if they met the desired measurements for height, waist, hips, and bust. If they matched, the girls were passed along, and if they failed, they were asked to leave.
That makes sense. I hadn't realized that these other girls were from that stage of planning. Although i should have.
Fic possibility (which hadn't occurred to me at the time): what about the gals who didn't make the cut? How did they react when they found out it was all Galactor (or Spectra)? Or did they ever find out?
Hm: that cosmetics company in the Gatch orignal: did it even exist, or was it created specifically for the purpose? Someone who knows about these things could write a fic or an essay about creating a company for that purpose.
(Oh, the economic fallout from Galactor schemes would be immense. They control companies and nations. Oof.)

UW just highlighted something to me.
While the ISO is all about the environment, no body seems to be concerned about the economy or the drain on economic resources.
Well, this is a children's show. But their oversight is a boon for anyone with the necessary expertise and a desire to write a fic.
You thought the most recent US elections were nasty? Imagine if there really was an organization like Galactor involved! The accusations would fly faster than sound.

When I did my student teaching, one of the classes as Senior Avid, as a glorified TA. Basically I got to help tutor. As the main teacher was also an English teacher, and the other tutor was math and science, I got to do Economics and Government. I learned more about economics from those kids walking them through there questions than I remembered from my senior econ class.
I'd love to read that perspective, but I'd hate to do the research to write it well.
The question to answer: why doesn't anybody surrender to Galactor? After all, they can pop up anywhere, any time, and have this distressing tendency to disguise their weapons and mecha. (Banana missiles, a mastodon mecha disguised as a model of a mastodon, cyborg horses -- need I say more?)

I could see Katse rejecting a girl because she had a lazy eye (would make it difficult to be the Swan) or fat legs (clearly something he would recognize, having seen the Swan's legs many times... but then, how did fat leg girl fit through the cutout?) but because a girl is ugly? Has Katse seen enough of the Swan's face that he knows if she's pretty or not? Hmmm...
I can only think that he's seen enough TV and movies to know that the one girl character, in a team of action heroes, will always be pretty.
I'm still pondering UW's point about where Jun was concealing her other Ninja shoe, since when she found her missing shoe, she had a matched set and could transform.
And she was wearing red shoes at the time. Could she have temporarily changed the colour of her Ninja shoe from black to red, in order to use one shoe from an ordinary pair of red shoes as a temporary substitute, and have them match?

LOL ... that's the same thing I've thought! ... perhaps the shoes had also the ability of compressing themselves ... who knows?! Well ... if the shoes did have that ability, then even Ken's and Joe's weapons should have had the same ... hmm ... I think this issue will always remain a mystery!!!
