Yes it is one of Rory's. I hadn't realised she also archived it on Gatchafanfic.

I personally don't have any problems with slash (I write it myself and am rather fond of the Ken/Joe pairing).

Rory's writing is really good - if you get over the slash and take it as a love story, then youll really enjoy it.

Oh man ... Thanks for reminding me about that one, Maddy. Phase III has always been one of my most favourite fics.

Actually NinjaSam is one of my absolute favourite writers. She is like you in having no fear and no inhibitions in writing. She's so gloriously technically perfect, yet raw and passionate all at the same time.

I loathe the whole yaoi thing, personally. I feel absolute distate over the massive warp on characters and the apparent need to have Joe force him self upon Ken (and vice versa) to get the story going... But, she is one of the miniscule few Yaoi writers who makes it readable to me... She does it right..

I miss her stuff muchly ... does she still write?

Nothing wrong with a well-written slash/yoai story. I do find Ken/Joe easier to take than Mark/Jason (just can't read that pairing for some reason).

And now for a fic rec:

Go read and review Green's "Cookies" at gatchfanfic. Just make sure to have lots of snack food at hand.

Amethyst I'm like you. Ken/Joe seems to work where Mark/Jason just doesn't (unless you have a Swan in the mix as well).

I am not a fan of the forced yaoi - after all, that's just rape - but I do love a "sweet" yaoi - and I suppose that's the romantic in me.

SJ - I post BotP stuff in AFF.nt under the Gatchaman category and just put a note that it is BotP in the desription. Most of the others who post there as well do that.

It's an older anime, so it's really onlyl we "older" writers who write about it. Youll see that it's a fairly small category anyway - the Gatchaman category is only a few years old and for a long while only Emby Qujinn's stuff was there.

Sam still writes - but mostly Thunderbirds fic. But she is a lovely writer and I think that Phase III is one of her best! But yeh - she writes some hot smut!!

Maddy, force or rape usually isn't romantic or erotic in either het or slash fiction. However there are stories that break that rule

You're right about Beer Night - another favorite of mine. I think what really redeems it is that there are hints during the fic that Joe knows what is going on - and then there is that wonderful last line "Next time, ask."

And Ken's conscience, too. The fact that he shows his guilt and remorse is totally in-character for him, but not typical of most rapists.

I loved "Cookies" Green! Giggled my way through it

*sigh* my one and only time I was completely off my head was in about 1986 at a work christmas party (it wasn't called "The Swill" for nothing. 3pm (yes - pm. Started at noon....) we had a seafood smorgasboard. Iknew that I was completely off my head when I foudn myself holidng prawn up and saying "I can't eat you little prawn.
