I heard about this this morning on the news and thought of Condorfan, but also know she was not in the immediate area. Condorfan do you get any smoke through your area? Or is it so mountainous in that part of California as well, that you have no problem.

This is what I found when I did a google search Ebony .... I hope I have the correct fire (as in this year) it appears there have been lots that happen in that area over the years.
I am sure if I am wrong one of the Californian residents can post the correct link. Wildfires

I hadn't heard about this -thanks for the links, CD. I feel so bad for the people who've lost their homes, but at least no one has been killed -may it stay that way!
I would have thought you would know all about this LB considering you are in America.
I had just automatically thought it would be the lead story on all news stations in the US.

The uncontained fire area doesn't look that big. But then it could just be the map on the website. And it changes by the hour anyway when there are major bushfires from a small area into a large area.
They looked like the fire was moving fast from the pictures. I hope none is hurt or any lives lost.
Lowering humidity is a worry. I hope that changes today or tomorrow for them. Whats the week before been like? Extremely hot or mild?
Keep us up todate with it...
How many acres are lost? I couldnt' find it in the report.

Thanks to all for your concern but Santa Barbara is at least over 60 miles away from me. I hope no one gets hurt during all of this.

It is just that I remembered when I was in Singapore and fires that were raging over in Thailand (or was it the Philippians) were sending smoke into Singapore making air quality and visibility very poor.
And I would say those countries were more than 60 miles apart.

Yes, I guess it's just that I'm at a job all day on Tuesdays, and then this Wednesday I was doing various things that kept me off the internet for much of the day, and I didn't turn the TV on... So I got out of touch with news events.

Glad that none of our Gatcha-friends on the board are being affected by the fires, but my thoughts go out to all the people who have been affected and lost their homes to it.
