Rock ringtones

LOL- I've been looking at a new ringtones for my phone...Gatchaman of course...

DH thought the heavy metal version Headbanger1 was inappropriate ... what do you think????

I kinda thought it would have been fun... Frown

I upgraded my cell-phone (which I actually never use) just so I could download some funky ringtones ... the sales guy at Fido said I could totally download tones.

Liar!

All I am capable of downloading are those polyphic ones... Led Zeppelin just doesn't sound right like that, ya know...

One day I did get stupid enough to make a midi-file of the Gatch song ... It was okay ...

I say go for the metal version!! Rock it out!!

Ive got the Gatchaman theme as my ring tone and my Text alert is Joe saying Bird go!

Its also my wake up alarm, hubby loves it..

I am right there with you gogirl. That and technologically wanting - as in I do not have a cellphone - don't see the use in one, seeing as no one except telemarketers call me. Well, and the occasional family member. Animeclap

Maybe that is my problem too, I am too cheep. Why need a cell phone when I have a landline that does the same thing.

Somehow it's become such that nearly every call I make (and receive) is between my cellphone and another person's cellphone, and now I even find I'm sending text messages a lot more. If I used a land line, I'd be paying long distance charges a lot as most of the calls I make are to numbers outside my local area code, but my cell phone has free long distance. I think the last time I used the land line was about 5 days ago, to order some Chinese take-out.

However, I've never attempted to figure out how to download any ringtones, as one of the ringtones already in my phone is a bit of Erik Satie's "Gymnopedie 1" (which is dorky classical instead of rock, but I like it.)

My new message alert is the sound of the Eagles birdrang in flight...Its the in the introduction before the song starts.

And my ringtone is the opening Gatchaman theme.

DH seperated the audio from the actual Gatchaman DVD's. so he could download the theme onto my phone. That means he has most of the music used on his computer.

Why pay for it? No one says you have to buy the ringtone!

I make all my Ring tones as well. Just get some free MP3 editing software and you can make anything into a ringtine and then either bluetooth it across or put on the memory card.

I watched episode103 and when Joe jumped out the mecha and transmutes, I used the voice recorder on the phone to sample it.

You could use voices or phases for the ringtone if you can record it from a DVD onto your computer...

"Galactor scum." Might just be the new catch phase.

FWIW, I've had a good time with Wiretap, which is a Mac software. I have just been recording audio on it (from the Web and DVDs) but it has editing capabilities... I'm just too nervous/time-constrained to explore them. I've been recording Gatchapin mp3s with it, and also made some Eagle Riders clips for my ER webpage.

You can export the audio in many forms, including cell-phone compatible forms.

If anyone wants to try it, Wiretap has a 30 day trial period where you get access to the full software. You have to download it from their webpage.

Talking about ringtones, with my newish phone, i just put any music I want onto it and use that. At the moment, i'm suing Slipknot's The Maggots to wake me up.

I have various tunes including Battlestar Galactica, both the original and re-imagined, Police Academey, Miami Vice (film) A-Team, Superman (first film) Bad Boys (both 2nd film and Bob Marley's song), Addams Family. That's all I can remember.
