Just found out seconds ago that Will Smith is producing Karate Kid re-make film and his 10 year old son is starring in the lead role.

Will Smith rang up the original star of the first 3 films, so he can give advice to the 10 year old.

When I heard about that I wanted to just go off and shoot myself.

Karate kid with a bloody ten-year-old? Gimme a farking break. You cannot do this movie with a ten year-old ... Ten year olds simply don't have ... you know what ...

Something tells me that this will just end up some stupid kids movie.

They're calling it Karate Kid just to give it some credibility...

:shudder: It definitely WON'T be on my "to watch" list ...

This is simply nepotism gone berserk. His kid probably likes the movie and hounded daddy dearest to produce it in order to play the part.

I find no other reasonable explanation for it.

I mean, shit. come on. The movie is about teenage angst and love.

Tell me how a ten year-old can fill that criteria?

Stupid.

I was a mild fan of the original ... not a raving fan ... but this just pisses me off.

I wonder how Ralph (can't spell his last name) can give advice on the role when it is obviously completely different ...

Ugh... I think I will go and shoot a few holes in Zark ...

I'm with you on that. I know they're been trying to remake the A-Team for a few years. I'm so glad they keep putting it off.

Then again ... Knight Rider isn't too bad ... It's bad ... but I'm damn well addicted to it...

I understand that they're looking into remaking Fantasy Island ... how utterly terrifying that will be.

I know there's a new Ghostbusters game out which has the original 4 Ghostbusters providing voices AND they are making a Ghostbusters 3 film (not a remake but a sequal) with again all 4 original Ghostbusters in.

I don't think they can re-make Star Wars because George Lucas has some contract or something. I hope they do re-makes of episodes 1 to 3 though as they can't do worse.

To be honest Met I wouldn't be surprised if it was George "not much of a sell out" Lucas who did the remakes.....most likely as full CGI lol.

ugh that Clone Wars movie was the biggest waist of time and money..... UGH

Met, I thought I had read (or watched) a tv show about them doing something with Ghostbusters. Along that line, one of the original crew didn't want to partake. Could very well be my memory though, one can never tell with the loose shrapnel floating in my head. Spin4

I watched an episode of Eurogamer TV show which was about the new Ghostbuster's game and the producers the game said that they had the four original people and what I have heard about the film, it's the same thing.

Maybe it was a story that at first true but that person changed their minds, or it was red-herring. Who knows?
