Condorfan was nice enough to send me a copy of the BOTP Gold Key Comic books digest. I was flipping through it this evening, and one page in particular caught my eye...

It's like they were channeling us! And I LOVE the flip-up visors!!!! pound

HHhhmmm, I wonder, we don't see the team eating and drinking when wearing their uniforms on, but this comic proves that they could in effect eat and drink with their uniforms on.

Princess has never kissed Mark before? Or maybe he's referring to her use of the visors' never-before-seen flip-up capability.

I love that poor robot Princess manages to fall for Mark, kiss him, betray her creator for the sake of a handsome face, and die, all in just five panels! Even cyborg Lucy didn't work that fast! Laugh2

And look at the lizard people in the first panel -at last, G-Force visits a planet where not everyone is human!

Even though they didn't show it in the BOTP or Gatchaman series I would think the visors would have flip up capability. What if they needed to use bionoculars? Although I was watching a Gatch II episode last night where Ryu was eating a piece of fish through his visor! WTF

Yes, poor Princess has never kissed Mark. Oh, the tragedy!!!! I feel the need to rectify that with a fic.... Oh wait, I already have... a few times! Wink

LB, you nailed exactly why I'm dying over this page! It's all ONE page! And did you notice that Mark's visor flips up too?

And yes, Condorfan, the eating through the visor thing had me ROFL 2 in that episode too! Ryu's visor goes straight down, so you can't even pretend that he could slip anything under it (maybe a straw). I put a screenshot of that in my writeup of the ER version of that ep.

We do get to see them eat and drink in Bird Style a few times. Here are some examples:

From episode #61;

No, I don't know what happened to his gloves. He had them on in the shot before this one...

From episode #77;

And from the longest dining scene in the series, from episode #96;

And if you think Ryu eating fish through his visor is bad, how about him spitting on his hand through his visor!

I remember the spaghetti episode. I always laughed at the idea of them eating something so messy in Birdstyle! ROFL 2

Not only that, Mark doesn't seem too distressed by the fact that she keeled over dead!

This reminds me of one of those 70s Bond movies... the female spy had special poison on her lips, so that when someone kissed her he died.

Thanks James for the pictures and the information. I would suppose that the visor flip up capability came with Gatchaman II and F--an improvement by Dr. Nambu no doubt. (Although in Gatch episode #96 it is funny to hear Joe slurp his spaghetti!)
