Hong Kong Phooey

I have just read on Wikipeida, there may be a live action filme starring Jackie Chan of Hong Kong Phooey. It ways that it may be a 2010 released.

There's a hint of familiarity in the phrase "Hong Kong Phooey" but my memory can't come up with anything. Now, of course, I'm curious, so I will have to google it.

I don't think I've ever seen this show, although I must have heard the name.

Funny thing, looking at the Hong Kong Phooey wiki made me recall dim memories of watching with my brother that old 70s "Kung Fu" TV show with David Carradine, so I looked it up on Wikipedia, and saw the name "Keye Luke" listed as one of the actors in it.

"Now where have I seen that name before?" I wonder, so I click on the name.

Of course, he was the voice of Zoltar in Battle of the Planets.

Ah yes Kung Fu TV series. Liked that. I have scene on YouTube, a comedy sketch of a comedien pretending to be Steven Seagall who was making a re-make film of Kung Fu and it had David Carradine who was trying to explain that he was the star of the 70s show. Quite funny, will try it find it again.

After Bruce Lee and Kung Fu TV series, the Martial Arts came quite popular.

And here's a little known fact, whether you know it or not, but Bruce Lee's first acting role was Kato on Green Hornet TV series, which ahd a crossover 2 part episode on Batman in the 60s.

I have seen and read somewhere on a site all about it that the people who made Batman promoted it as it was something like a huge fight, which it really wouldn't as Bruce Lee would as you said kicked Burt's backside.

I don't think Burt actually thought he could beat Bruce Lee. Also Bruce didn't like playing Kato and actually added the martial arts stuff hinmself.

AND here's another fact I found out. In the 80s there was nearly a Kung Fu Next Generation series which had Brandon Lee, Bruce Lee's son, star as Carridine's charactor's son.

Yes, but the little random questions that pop into your head during the course of day, before the internet, usually had to go unanswered -only so much time in a day and you can't spend it all in a library (though in grad school I came pretty close sometimes!)

Before the internet, all I had was my music tapes and I love to read books and did that at school at every time there was a lesson.

I still read books and love to use my imagineation to try to bring the stories to alive like a movie or a TV show

Well we do try to teach our students how to do research on the internet... and how to choose a reliable site to base information on. That is the hard part, what is reliable and what is not.
*but then the same could be said for some books as well, couldn't it.*
