I suppose we could all go to Felix Ip's blog and say "You know how we've been saying how important it is to stay true to the characters' original appearances? Well, there's this one change that we wouldn't mind...
Poor "crazy monkey" Nambu! Not his most dignified moment!
I remember laughing so hard the first time I saw that episode, "I can't believe Joe actually decked Dr. Nambu!" Granted, Nambu was hardly in his right mind at the time, but still...

I think Joe has hit every member of the team--Ken the most--but that's just him.
It's interesting the information on this thread about Nambu. I wonder what kind of upbringing did he have--was he ever in a serious relationship with someone. I know he's very knowledgable but he's poor at being a medical doctor. Honestly, putting Joe in a centrifuge to remove a piece of shrapnel from his brain? Geez!

I love your pics, Saturn! Now I feel the urge to make an animation of Dr. Nambu slurping his noodle....
And LB, I can see the other colors, but wow! He sure has improved!!!!
Changing it to black & white seems to make it look better.

Katsesama has some information about Dr. Nambu on her site.
And finally, Nambu Hakase from the OVA, he is wearing a suit that actually should have been worn in the "Gatchaman Dansen Video".The suit will look so much better in the dance floor, John Travolta will not be able to compete with that.Dr. Nambu's hair is definitely the case of too much hairspray,and whatever happened to his sexy moustache???
]
"Sexy moustache?" Do we possibly have someone else here who's not immediately put off by mustaches?
His clothes in the OVA definitely put me off, though!
It is those OAV clothes that make me think .... dare I say it??? "Gay"
Now I think I know where some of those Nambu "slash" stories come from.

Wow, LB they should give you a show and call it "Extreme Makeover Gatchaman Edition!" Nambu really looks good with less facial hair and no glasses--although I don't mind glasses too much--I think they're sexy on men!

Wow, look at that strong jaw line. You know he kind of reminds me of that pilot the team takes in, who has lost his memory, and then who turns on Ken, because he is Galactor and has to be killed.
(Ummm, I hope I am not mixing up my versions here, like TJ's children do. Sorry I wish I could remember the title or eps. number. That would make it much easier to describe. )
Edit: I found out it is eps. 60, Science Ninja Team G-6.
