Hey, you're using the avatar! Springie's buff Ryu was just too good to resist trying it in an avatar If TB gets a chance to make a full body drawing of your Snowy Owl, more things will be possible. (I'd pass on the split-toed shoes, though -to me, they've never looked too comfortable!)
Wow i love the snowy owl birdstyle TB. CD it suits you.

I hail from London and grew up watching Battle of the Planets. I'm intrigued to watch it without all the cuts and censorship so I've ordered Gatchaman I (105 episodes?) from a website called uk2usa. Should be with me in a few days hopefully
I already own the 1st Battle of the Planets boxset, released by Playback I believe.
I'm also a massive comic fan and loved the BotP run by Top Cow, shame it looks like it's been canned
*edit also forgot to say that I am a great fan of superhero cosplay (now to figure out where to get a decent Condor outfit!)
hey there neighbour!!
I am from South london
So Jase, what helped you to rediscover your joy of BOTP and decide to head over here?
btw you will love it here we have such talented artists and writers and we have a font of knowledge for all things Gatch called James
CD that is one amazing avatar!

I've always loved Battle of the Planets from when I was a kid and it was brought back to the fore by the comic book series (wasn't too keen on the crossovers, even though BotP/Witchblade was very easy on the eye). Apparently as we speak my Gatch DVD's are winging their way to me from Malaysia so I'll have a good watch when they arrive
I look forward to checking out the plethora of fics you have on here and all the art too!

So we have some people who hail from London! That's brilliant! I love London, used to visit it often when I was young because my father was born there. He just recently came home from a 8 week vacation to England. I'm so envious! Last time I visited was in 2001 (pre-9/11). I hope to go back again someday.
P.S. Love the new avatar CD!

Jason, enjoy the videos! They're quite amazing when you watch them! Just be sure to watch the subs too, as some of the English translation is "interesting" (Jigokillers, anyone?? How the heck do you get away with changing "JUN!" to "GALACTOR!" in such a poignant scene????)

Got my DVD's through on Saturday Hino and you're not kidding about the "interesting" subtitles! They came from Malaysia so I think the English subtitles have been translated from the Chinese ones resulting in some sort of crazy Engrish :/
All the names of the characters are different too.
Ken = Sean
Joe = Alex
Jun = Jenny
Ryu? (Tiny) = Dragon
Jinpei = Sting
You kind of have to sort out the grammar and spelling mistakes while watching it which keeps the old synapses firing constantly!
Also Fiery Phoenix (God Phoenix?) is called something like "Flamingo Flame"! Made me chuckle as I was watching it in any case

Flamingo Flame? Ha! I guess it's not the ADV versions that you're watching.
Well, the team has had their names changed for the many incarnations of Gatch over the years, but Sting? That ranks up there with "Ace Goodheart" when it comes to jarring name changes.
Subtitles aside, how do you find Gatchaman comparing to Battle of the Planets?

But to be fair, it's the 'coolest' name the Swallow has ever had!
