I haven't seen it, but one of my co-workers took his 7-year-old to see it. Half-way through the movie, his son shook his arm and asked if they could go home.... That didn't give me much hope for the film!
But I heard more rave reviews about IronMan. I'm thinking this is the movie I need to see!

I was noticing on the review board that Ironman is at the top.
Speed racer came second, but that might be because it was new this week.
We will have to see if it continues to remain up there. I know I will not get to see Speed Racer for several more weeks.
by then I/we should have a good indication of how it is doing

I meant to but got busy on Saturday and then Sunday being Mother's Day, I could not get out.
Just wondering what people thought, if they did get out. I am off to check the reviews.
I watched the premiere, but I didn't like it. It had a cartoony feel to it that quite turned me off. Didn't like the acting either, although I really did love the monkey though. The anime is still definitely way better.
Mom and I saw it today. I really enjoyed it. Mom thought it was okay. Not a big toon fan,but when John Goodman was on Regis she loved the part they showed of him fighting a Ninja.
Spoiler here: The original voice of Speed is in the movie. He's at the begging of the film. he's a racing annoucer. He's in a checkered hat.

Speed Racer rules! The cartoon stylization is absolutely great and the actors resemble original characters in looks.
Look like my childhood dreams come true. For me, as for SR fan, it was a great honor to take part in SR movie distribution in Russia and attended Moscow premiere.
Go, Speed Racer, go!
I finally was able to see Speed Racer today. I liked it--it kept the feel of the anime although sometimes trying to watch the car racing is dizzying. I liked the shots of the cities--it resembles Utoland if done in live action.
I kept looking for a Gatchaman reference but couldn't find any. I just imagined Joe racing there too.

i watched it on the weekend, and I too kept thinking of Joe racing in there as well.
I do have to admit though that I left with a head ache, I think the bright colours and flashing lights may have affected me.
(It was either that or a change in the weather which can affect me as well.)
