Greetings to you, Ladies and Gentlemen!

As I said, currently I have no time for writing because of my (damned damned) exams, but still I have time to think over fic ideas I've invented. I've planned to write something about Kamo, since he's a very undescribed and unpopular character; I guess it's a bit offending to just ignore this man, and he could be an interesting character. But anyway I need some basic info about him. I would be grateful for any character descriptions, background infom, scripts, analysis, and especially screenshots concerning Dr. Kamo.

Hi all!

There really isn't a whole lot about Kamo out there. The Planning for "Gatchaman Fighter" describes him like this:

Saburo Kamo (60-years-old)

Under the authority of the ISO's Nambu, he has been placed as the Chief Engineer for the new Gatchaman Base.

He has a droll, though cheerful and bright, personality. All of the Ninja Team affectionately call him by his nickname, "Jiisama (Old Man)."

Not much, I admit. Only one episode of the series focuses on him, episode #32, "The Mystery of the Cosmo Pulse." In that episode, we find out that Kamo's sole living relative is his grandson, Shoichi Kamo, whose parents (Kamo's son and daughter-in-law) died in a Gallactor attack. Shoichi lives in Edo City, under the care of a guardian, Shigeru Nagata, who is Kamo's assistant.

Kamo's relationship with his grandson was somewhat strained after Nambu recruited Kamo to work on things like Gatchaman Base, the Gatcha Spartan, and the investigation into the Cosmo Pulse. The boy felt abandoned by Kamo, and didn't understand the importance of what Kamo was doing. By the end of the episode, after Kamo helped save Shoichi from a Gallactor attack on Edo City, the two reconciled.

And that, in a nutshell, is what we know about Kamo. I hope it helps!

Hmm... Not much, really, but thank you anyway, tatsunokofan-san! Erm... Do you have his birthdate? I could calculate an astrological chart for him, or maybe make some Tarot analysis to learn more about his personality...

I wondered if there was more about him myself. I used him once in a ficcie and I hoped I portrayed him right!

Dr.Sinc I do love fighter ficcies, and I'm working on one that goes from Gatch 2 to fighter. So the info is great.

Pretty slow. I haven't really finished the next chapter, as I'm stuck with the character development. Plot tends to get more complicated than I expected!

Ummm, okay. I assumed you were kidding when you mentioned his birthdate, astrological charts, and tarot cards, especially considering the "Birthday and Ages" thread that appeared here a week or so ago. Apparently you weren't.

So, the belabor a point brought up in that thread, none of the characters in any of the three "Gatchaman" TV series have an official birthdate. By that same token, none of their bloodtypes are known either. Fans have made some up for them, but these dates (And bloodtypes) are not in any way official.

Sooo, that means we're not breaking the cannon if we give a birthday to a character? Or adding more to it's background to complete the one already given in the show?

Hi all,

No, you wouldn't be violating canon (Not cannon, which is a weapon for firing projectiles) by giving a character a birthdate or a blood type, but that information would not be official. Of course, anyone else who decided to give those same characters a different birthdate or bloodtype would also be able to do so whenever they wished, and have it be equally valid and equally unofficial. So, do with it as you wish, but don't complain if someone else doesn't agree with you.

With all the problems concerning my payment for the Net access I really can't afford to read through all the topics on this board, so I'm apologizing if I've made a double-posting -_-" Well, and if you're implying that I cannot do astro charts or use the Tarot, then you're wrong. As a person who has interest in esoterics, I possess some predictory skills. Not so much, however.

Dr Sinc I miss threads at times due to time limits...especially now that I'm writing more stories again...

Don't worry just go back and see if you can find it when you have the time!

The fun thing about writing is improvise on what wasn't developed in the series and weave something new in that fills in the gap. When i personally read a story I like to see the scope the writer will go to.

Cannon is good to keep with basics and being consistant. Just don't over do it unless your re-writing an episode.

I don't care if they sit in different place during a mission, or they have a new weapon that they pick up along the way... If you deliver something that engages me and other readers. Thats often enough. I just want to read a story that has some good character development and plot twists.

Hehehe (evil laugher) Yeah, as you can read in my profile, I'm interested in esoterics. I use Tarot to fing a way to solve some personal problems or to interpret a character ^_^ Mine is a full Tarot set with both Major and Minor Arcanes, and I like to use the "12 Houses" layout to get the general info about my characters, since there is no difference between asking about a real person or about a character ^____^

Hmm... As for the plot twists, I'm pretty good with it... But as for the character development... I'm so unexperienced in writing that I have no idea what to do with it at all ^_^ But I have an mad fic idea. Too bad that tommorrow is my math exam... I still have no time... Sniff...
