A funny thing happened to me at work tonight.
I was minding my own business, when one of my co-workers asked me if I was driving a red truck.
I told him I was, to which he promptly replied
"Well it just got hit by a higway patrol car."
"You're kidding..."
"No, go look!"

I went outside, and this cop was driving a police issue Chevy Tahoe. He was parked waaaay too close to my truck in the first place. As he had turned out, his truck caught my rear bumper, for he had cut the turn too closely.
I saw him attempt to turn, and his truck slightly lifted mine off the ground. When he backed up to right himself, my little pickup slumped with the weight of being back on the ground...
"ouch..." I winced...

He got out, and was cussing and apologizing. He broke the taillight cover on my passenger side, and left a streak of white paint on the corner of my bumper...
And that was it.
His truck, on the other hand, was a whole other story.
There was a Deep, Dented scratch that ran from his front passenger door, all the way down the side of his truck, and culminated into a small crater on his rear fender.
When I saw tha damage to his car compared to mine, It was all I coud do not to laugh.
So he asks for my information, and my license.
My license is suspened currently...lol
So I give him my insuracne papers, then I get him to tell me about how he and his k-9 unit busted a guy with 8 kilos of coke last sunday. My gift of gab preoccupied him, thankfully, and I went back to work, never showing him my license, mind you.
Well he gets done with all the paperwork, comes into my work and apologizes for the hundredth time.
"It's all good, man. Don't worry about it."
"You got a tough fu*kin truck man..."
"Thanks. Be carefull."
"My office will call you monday to get your taillight fixed..."

All things considered, it was great. I got one over on the man and I wasn't even trying!!

I thought this story might encourage you or even make some of you laugh, but it's no joke.. This really did happen!!

Maybe you should all go to the Batman forums since you're all such great detectives....

You guys are totally missing my point.
I know my license is bad.
I know I need to fix it.
FTR.. I DO NOT drive unles it is absolutely imperitive.

And lastly, I didn't go to all the trouble of typing that story out like I did just to have you all tell me I need to get my license fixed...

I just thought it would make you guys laugh to hear that he got messed up more than I did.

It would be embarrasing for the cop. I can imagine the ribbing he'd get from his fellow cops...LOL

And not to sound like a nag about the liscense thing but I have my own man to nag about such things..LOL

*glares at DH* who rolled our Jeep...the cop let him off easy...could have given him the breathalizer...just fined him for careless driving, speeding etc....and he didn't bother telling me about the fines or paying them, so he got his liscense suspended ...again didn't bother telling me until he got pulled over in my car which had a cracked windsheild...again he got off with just a warning...but man then I could have gotten fined...and then shit would really have hit the fan!

Amy cant talk for the US or rest of Europe but in the UK they do get points/loose their license if the accident is their fault.

OH and if it is a serious accident they can face criminal charges.
