For those of you who have been long time members, you may recall that my mother has been battling inflammatory breast cancer for the past six years. However, in June she began to have an increasingly difficult time dealing with pain, and by October her condition had deteriorated. For the past five weeks, she has been in the hospital, where we discovered that the cancer had spread throughout her body.
I flew down last Friday to see her for the last time, and returned Tuesday morning. Last night, at 12:01 am, my mother died peacefully in her sleep. She was 48.
I don't know what I will be doing over the next few months, but I will keep in touch.
