Sounds like there is absolutly nothing wrong with your daughter TJ, Being a tomboy can be a great thing.


One thing you might want to consider is getting your kids an old tv or something and allowing them to tear it apart. Just be forewarned it still has some juice to it, think it's with a transistor though.

Never know, maybe someday your kids will be able to fix any appliance in the house.

A really good magnifying glass is more fun than a microscope; you can carry it around, and you don't have to make slides for it. (My microscope came with 50 pre-mounted slides, of squished things.)

The book The New The Way Things Work is great, as are the videos. (Just love the mamoths!)

She might enjoy a good kids' cookbook. I'm still looking for my copy of Betty Crocker's cookbook for kids. The one from Chirp/Chickadee was assembling pre-cooked food, like oreo cookie and icing and licorice to make a spider. Or faces out of sandwich fixings and salads.

Nada on the old TV set to tear apart. I could double check with Dad if you want, but I know there were some interesting sparks as he took apart an old monitor. (He's an old ham radio nut, so he knows when and where the sparks will be.)

Have you tried the RP game Toon? Compared to most dice-RP, it's really easy to learn, and you can be really silly with it. Rules are rather flexible.
