Happy 40th Anniversary Gatchaman II!

Hi all!
Battle of the Planets isn't the only series that is turning 40 this year. Today marks the 40th anniversary of the premiere of Gatchaman II! After a four year absence, the Science Ninja Team returned to Japanese television to thrill viewers with their exciting new adventures!
For many of the earliest American fans, this event being so close to the time when Battle of the planets premiered proved very fortuitous, as it meant that Gatchaman II merchandise was plentiful in Japanese stores as we began seeking out material on Gatchaman. Sure, we'd have preferred to find more from the original series, but this still made for a pretty good substitute! It also proved to us that the series we had just discovered had the staying power to last beyond the 85 episodes we were seeing here. It was all very exciting, I assure you!
So, Happy Anniversary to Gatchaman II! And thank you for helping to fuel our fandom in its fledgling days!
Oh, yeah, and let's not forget that today also marks the 46th anniversary of the premiere of the original Gatchaman! It's kinda important too, you know!
