If you're someone who has enjoyed the music created by Bill Meyers and Maurice White for the Gatchaman OAVs, you might be interested to know that the first soundtrack album for the OAVs has been reissued at a bargain price as part of Nippon Columbia's Animex 1200 series. The Animex 1200 CDs are reissues of out-of-print anime and tokusatsu albums, priced at only 1,200 yen apiece (Plus tax, of course).
The music on this album includes virtually all of the new music that was used in the three volumes of the OAVs (The original TV series and Gatchaman movie music that was also used in the OAVs is not included here). The album has 11 tracks, titled as follows:
1. Main Title
2. Friendship
3. Gyaracter Attack
4. Joe
5. God Phoenix
6. Berg Katse
7. Fighting
8. Sad
9. X
10. Victory
11. End Title/Let's Fly
There was a second OAV soundtrack album that was made up of variations of this music, but only one piece of music from it (A variation on the "Let's Fly" song) was actually used. This second album has not been reissued.
Thanks for posting this! My son has been asking about the music they play in the first episode when everyone joins up with the God Phoenix, and now I know where I can get it!
