It's true! A recent poll shows that Americans consider the Sith -- the embodiment of evil in the Star Wars universe -- in higher regard than any national-level politician. (Why am I NOT surprised?)
The options for 2016, on either side of the spectrum, at this time range from sad to down right scary. The ones who would be best at it are too smart to step up and do it.
However, Bud Selig is supposedly stepping down as MLB's commissioner. I think that GW Bush would be an excellent candidate for that position, even if he would favor the owners. Now, before anyone gets upset, hear me out. He has a Yale education (we don't need to get into the whorl Ivy-League-legacy thing). His love able-doof personality would play well with baseball culture. As a politician and former team owner, he knows the issues and how to work the system. Most importantly, he loves the game. And who else would take the job.

I don't think anybody would have a serious objection to Dubya being baseball commissioner -- he seemed to do a good job as the owner of the Rangers. It's a different matter when we're talking about someone taking a position where wars could be started or the world's economy could be destroyed.
I found it REALLY disturbing when, a couple of years ago, Hepatitis C got a more favorable rating than Congress!

In a nutshell, the commissioner is the guy who oversees all the teams and their owners; his main job is to make sure everyone plays by the rules.
Pretty much, though since they fired Fay Vincent and put in one of there own, it is a bit more of a figured head position these days, much like being president.
