We're not sure yet. We've spent a few weeks over the years running around in Florida. My sister-in-law lives in Cape Coral. We're leaning towards the Gulf coast, but nothing definite for a few more years as we narrow it down.

When I check the historical records, I see that Jacksonville has not been in the track of a hurricane for years...
And Jacksonville does get into the freezing range for a couple of weeks a year... Orlando is on the line between freezing and no freezing - some years we get a morning or two around 30 degrees...
Of course - a few years ago we had four hurricanes cross the Orlando area...
That included Charlie. My sister-in-law got all 4 of them and managed to only have a 4 hour power outage during one of them. They were lucky, but she said after that she'd never ride out another. They now head up to the in-laws in Georgia if there's a threat.

Yes, my folks live in Polk County and got those 4 that one year. I was on the phone with my mom during one of them and could hear the winds and the house rattling!
