Heartbreak

You know, I’d like to think I’m a fairly patient, calm person. But with this upcoming week, I’m not sure I can maintain that demeanor!

...Actually, the more I think about it, my feelings are leaning more toward the heartbroken than angry. You see, there’s something happening this Wednesday and Friday – I’ll spare you the lurid details – and it involves three people I’ve considered to be my friends.

In fact, I’m having a hard time holding back the tears each time I see their names and read their posts! Every time I see k2p2, Daniella T and KT1972, I find myself wanting to scream, “Why oh why do you sit back and act like nobody wants to wish you a happy birthday?!”

Perspective Alters Reality

No worries...thanks so much for the birthday wishes! Looks like I am in good company this week! Wish we could all celebrate together!

First thing, I want to thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes this week, I am honored to be in such company....

Last week I suddenly lost a dear friend and my life has been in a heartbroken upheaval since. I miss her more than what seems to be humanly possible.

Always kind and generous, she often told me she considered my son to be hers as well, and with her incredible capacity to love I've never doubted that in the least.

As a single mother, she leaves behind a marvelous and brilliant son soon to be completing his second year of college.

For my birthday wish, I hope that each and every one of you reaches out to your comrades, confidants, and anyone else you hold in esteem and tell them what a difference they make in your lives.

For me, I wanted just one more chance to laugh over coffee or something stronger...just one more chance to see her smile or her laugh...just one more chance...
