`Crowds` Debrief

I love Crowds but the ending left me feeling...empty.

(I was expecting Joe to die...yes, there is a death, I wont spoil it for you.)

And there wasn't enough action...Katse, for all their strength is defeated far too easily.

(But Hajimes method made sense. People wont stop if they are having fun, after all...if they can be distracted from Katse game by a new one...)

It was too short, we needed time for more characterisation.

What did you think?

I wanted more answers or explanations -I agree it was too short. There's a lot I still want to know about JJ, O.D., Paiman, NOTEs...

I need to watch the finale one more time, and I haven't had a chance yet. With subtitled shows, sometimes I'm too busy reading to see everything that's going on. Currently, I'm wondering if Hajime is actually some kind of MESS, like the ones the team was battling at the beginning of the series.

They should've elaborated on Hajime vs. Katse batte. Apparently there are supposed to be some pending announcements regarding Crowds. At least an OVA would be nice. This series would be much better with two cours instead of just one. I liked the resolution of the whole Rui/Crowds/Prime Minister thing, but there was a serious lack of other characters. I know their issues were resolved, but still. And did half of episode 11 really need to be (more or less) a recap? Still, I had a lot of fun with this series. Mamoru Miiyano as Katse was so good words failed me and the soundtrack was everything I ever hoped it to be. My definite favourite among the nine series I've followed this summer.

(Posting again after a forced break and still no Gatchaman Crowds section in the library. That makes me sad.)

I did a fic, and Ive got more ideas.

But was there a Hajime v Katse battle? I got the impression they came to an amiable agreement.

Katse would hide down Hajimes bra, while Hajime would annoy him with her perpetual happiness.

(a bit of an odd ending, but they are both odd characters)

It seems Gatch Crowds are getting second season. Yaaay! I'm hoping for more anime cliché subversions, trippy costumes, Mamoru Miyano awesomeness and godly Iwasaki Taku soundtracks. Party3 (after the fun ride that the Crowds were, autumn season seems so lacking...)

There didn't have to be a battle, but I can't quite imagine him giving up either. After the fight with O.D. he was probably too de-powered to leave the planet and try again elsewhere, so he grudgingly decided to accept Hajime's acceptance and... uh... merged with her/turned into her scarf/blouse/bra(etc.) to have a safe haven while he's waiting to regain his power (seriously, can you see anyone attacking Hajime's chest? ...well, okay. Maybe J.J.). On the other hand, as he's waiting, I can see Hajime trying to find a new source of amusement for him, one which doesn't invlolve mass slaughter. (I'm trying to apply this ending to original Gatch. I'd seriously like to see Ken's face as Jun drags Katse off to a picnic at the beach or the O-bon festival. And Nambu's eyebrows would probably burst through his glasses. XD )
