I remember seeing that movie with my mother. She commented that she enjoyed it, since even though he skipped school, he went and did things like going to a museum rather than being out drinking and smoking or something.

I didn't see it when it first came out -I think it was a bit later, when I was in university.

But the first time I was in the Art Institute of Chicago, many years later, and saw a certain Seurat painting, all I could think of was Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
