As for Ego, yes, he is indeed someone very moody. I saw the Eagle Riders version, and even there I could see that the way he acted was somewhat forced, it wasn't his natural way.

He was a complex nature, and there were in Fighter moments when he seem to yearn for affection (ep.4)

It would be wonderful to add him a human side, apart from the ruthless and cruel one. You've portraited him wonderful as a conqueror. And I particulary like your writing style. It shows very well the character's emotions

I'm eager to read your next chapter.

I meant he wasn't good at martial arts. Or at least he didn't show it. Fencing is different. Then again Ken didn't seem a very skilled swordsman.
I think he got his skills from the time he worked as his step-brother's bodyguard. He is shown practing in ep 37.

But he was, indeed, a master at fencing and a good marksman too (well, many of the targets were at point blank, so would have been hard to miss). And he didn't played fair either.
He also seem to to be good at aerobatics, he leapt over Ken's head on one of their duels and ran towards the escape mecha.

Good thing adding new characters. It makes the fic more interesting.

I was thinking about what you said about him not being that good.fencing is a skill that is not easy to master,

He would have been Killed by Gatchaman too easy if he could not fight at all.

He would have had to learn from some where, and have good enough skill to survive several duels against him.

I read books on Hitler and Stalin so I based my theory of the way he would think from them.

His (Ego) actions are in some ways similar to them, he likes red wine and opera, appreciates architecture and can hold a grudge over the Simplest things....(Hitler hated Jews simply because they were rich and he wasn't jealousy is a curse but his men were loyal to him, Stalin had great ideas for Russian but was ruthless in implementing them and didn't let potential threats escape him)

Things like that I based my ideas from.

I suppose when you started to hightlight him I saw the potential for a great character.

Is that how you see him??

My inlaws are Romanian. They grew up 50 miles apart, left after the war (some horrifying stories, those who wrote the history books did some editing), and met in Toronto, Canada. Oma's now 79 years old.

Well, since it's BOTP, *technically* it's the Great Spirit, or the Luminous One. And yes, I was actually intending that it was dead, for the purposes of that particular fic. Wink

I'm glad you liked it, though! It was one of those fics that just came easily, IYKWIM. As opposed to the one I'm writig now, which is a bit of a struggle.
