TJ, I haven't seen Austin Powers, but Fembots were feature on the Bionic Woman and Six Million Dollar Man. They were the creepy female robots that looked normal until their faces were knocked off to reveal a bunch of circuitry. Does that sound anything like the Fembots from Austic Powers?
It looks like only the Swan has her wings with that set and the Swallow and Swan are missing their helmets. I am surprised it is selling for the price it is.
Anyone know anything about Popy toys? I seem to recall James mentioning something about them but can not remember what it was.

Ahhh, that is right. Weren't they the ones who wanted the next series to be created around their toys. Which is why we had the change in the Phoenix to the Chicken Ship and then the Gatchaspartan?

Not quite CD, but very close! Here's a page talking about that toy, with yet another creepy image of the full figure in a link at the end.
Does fully explain what going on with Ken's chest though. A missile-firing Ken is kind of a fun idea for an action figure. If only they'd put the launch sites somewhere other than there... Like maybe his shoulders, or his belt.

I remember the Bionic Woman "fembots"! I loved that show as a kid!
But other than them being unusually strong, like Jaimie, I don't recall them having any built-in weapons.

Thanks for the links, Jason and TJ! IMHO, the missile-firing Ken does really not make sense! Other than the Fembots, the only other match I thought about when I first saw that action figure of Ken's, which could shoot missiles from his chest, was Venus, the robot companion of the Great Mazinger!!

Was that something an individual created/put together, using different set pieces, TJ? Or was that a toy produced by a company?
My understanding is that this is bootlegged (i.e. did not have Tatsunoko permission) but was an actual toy manufactured ands sold in Asia in the 70s.

Bootlegged is right! I'm surprised they got the bird symbol and buckle right, yet the cape, perhaps the most obvious feature of each character, so badly wrong!
