I feel like there's nothing fun left to do, and feel super bored

Not sure if this is exactly the right place to post this, but lately, I've been feeling like I've gotten everything I could have out of life, and that there's nothing fun left to do. Have you ever felt like that? I mean, I've been more bored than usual lately, and I can't think of a better description for what that feels like than that.

Yesterday, I had a rough day, and an emotional fight with my husband and oldest. As we were walking through Wal-mart, barely talking, I told him that sometimes the only thing that keeps me from suicide is the thought that I'd probably screw that up, too.

Fortunately, I don't have thoughts like that too often.

Don't worry, no plans here for that. As to where I end up, in the long term, no worries there either, not sure if I believe in the concept of Heaven, Hell, Purgatory, or after life. I lean closer to reincarnation. I certainly wonder what I did in my last life to deserve this one. Wink

CD, I had a great aunt that used to swear she was on her last life -- she'd finally gotten it perfect, and there was no where else to go but down. Of course, her sister (I think it was her sister, they were both my dad's aunts), wall-papered her house in tinfoil because she was afraid of the Catholics were spying on her. I read somewhere that the soul (or what ever you want to call it) needs to take on difference aspects of experiences of life in order for it to learn and become complete.

From this I decided that meant souls could be reborn to become other people so they could experience a different life. Then came the idea came to me that souls could also be reborn as animals - why not it is only another experience - and that is what lead to Mark being able to speak to, understand, and change himself into animal forms.

Something his "soul" has remembered from a past life, so to speak. At least the speaking to and understanding animal languages. Changing into animal forms? I am not quite sure why I liked that idea. Probably because it is always something I have wondered about.

OH CD I love how you think. Smile I totally feel that souls can rechannel through animals. My cat I had during the grueling teenage years (Fluffy aka Pufles) Smile was so understanding. Even when she was dying and the last time I saw her, she did her best to swallow hard enough around the huge tumor on her face, to tell me it would be ok. I had just met my future husband at the time and while she put her paw on my hand and meowed to me I knew what she was saying and I kept telling her I was sorry for not being brave. All my ex-husband could do was stutter, "That cat's talking to you!" His eyes were huge and I swear he was shaking. I just kept telling him "I know" over and over as he kept repeating it. Giggle!
I miss her so much but my current kitty Dutchess reminds me a lot of her. Cat
I like the idea of changing into animal form too, must be why I liked Manimal, Beastboy off Teen Titans, and the Wonder Twins. Animetongue

I hate to insult Neko, but she sometimes reminds me of Sally, one of Mom's Rhodesian Ridgebacks. She's always hungry, likes attention, gets into everything, and rather personable. But then, she's just over a year old, so some of that could be kittenhood.

I know how you feel--it's like, a complete stagnation. Like a super hot day, and you're sweating like crazy, and you're dying for a cool breeze or rain and you get nothing but more sun and heat. You're bored, but you don't know what to do, and you don't feel like doing anything, because it takes effort. It's more a mental than a physical exhaustion. Like you've hit the wall.

You usually have two choices, withdraw further into yourself and it'll get worse, or reach out and do something. Anything.

It's a physical law that inert objects remain inert until a force is exerted upon them. So either you generate that force from within and get yourself moving, or you bite your tongue and allow someone from the outside to force you to get moving. You kick yourself in the ass, or have someone do it for you. ^_^

Plenty of times I've needed a kick in the ass. Once you get moving, things get better. And if you can't find your way, find someone who can guide you. I have my gurus, and I take their advice, even when I don't want to and I get angry and moody and fight and don't want to be told what to do. But they're always right, in the end. At least they're nice enough not to say, "I told you so." Big Grin

There are billions of things you haven't done yet. You won't live long enough to do everything in this life, so you definitely haven't run out of things to do. And if you truly have nothing more to do, then you're God and we're going to have to start a religion around you.

I'm in the same rut too. I've generally been a happy guy, but my life has really hit a low point.

I love to go biking, but because I've been saving up my money for some house renovations , I don't have money to do anything, so on my days off I just sit around the house channel surfing and web surfing with some games in between. My sister moved in with with me recently which makes it a bit better. I just can't wait 'til I get my vacation pay and tax return and I have some extra funds to really go and do stuff again.

I think you really hit the nailing the head Katse, I think if I just found a way to get my ass kicked and DID something things will get better. I just like to think I'm just in an emotional "recession" as opposed to depression, and I'll eventually bounce back!

I know how you're feeling, Allen! What's keeping me going right now are my kids! And, thinking about it, it's a very long time I'm feeling this way! But, nevertheless, at least I'm still trying to keep on thinking positively! This sometimes help!

CD and Amethyst ... although I'm probably speaking against my own religion, I can totally see myself in what you're saying about reincarnation! I sometimes think that life is the very purgatory, and we're always trying to prove ourselves until we can say we're perfect! Isn't life hard enough?!

I know how you all feel

But..it has occured to me that I am hanging on to things / dreams / goals that are NOT me anymore!

I was getting frustrated cause I did not seem any closer to getting what I thought I wanted..hindsight has me thinking the reason I did not have them ..is that they no longer serve my higher purpose or that they were not mine in the first place..that they were just what I thought I needed to be (expectations of parents, friends etc)

The fun bit now is realy desciding what will give me bliss and make me happy
(I feel frustrated, but I love a good challenge, and I am determined to make this year better than last year)

I know my cats talk to me (or respond to me many people would say) but there are other times they sit and stare at me and I wonder what they are thinking or trying to let me know.

Puffles, I am not sure when I would ever get around to writing a story where Mark changes form. I have so many other stories to write first and right now I am enjoying dealing with Mark in his youth before and during initial training and the implantation process.

It is also common for people to feel down in the winter. Its cold, there's less light, its harder to spend a lot of time outside.

I hate the winter due to my RA. If it wasn't for the excellent school system here and the need for college money for my son, I'd quit and move to Florida in a heartbeat.

Talking it out with friends and watching videos of sandy beaches or fireplaces helps me.

Early spring, please!!!!
