LW ... Oh gosh! Your sister does have an attitude!

TJ and Daniella ... I join you in having a Lego box already under the tree! It's the first Christmas present my son has received this year!

Springie ... I've been chuckling reading your story about the swiping thing! And, thanks a lot for that link ... poor kids ... I could hardly bear watching their disappointed faces! But, you've very much intrigued me to try my first prank on my own kids with it, making sure that the prank won't take long since I so don't like to see my kids unhappy! LOL ... I'm already thinking of wrapping a roll of toilet paper for my daughter, and wait to see her face! She's the one in the family to whom we always tell not to throw so much of paper down the loo, so Santa would have the excuse of giving her an extra roll because she'd have used it all!

KT ... TJ's advice works brilliantly! I recommend you to try it out, even if the letter could have to be put under the tree at the last moment for Santa to find it! Obviously, you would have seen what has been written before, and Santa could do the rest of all the magic!Wink

Gatchgirl and Amethyst ... better not have any argument with you since you both know how to handle knives so well!! But, isn't it lovely how much we cherish our childhood memories, such memories also kept alive in the present Christmases!

I love my sister and we took her OCD as a challenge and it's now family tradition to keep her occupied and see how crafty we can get

Alas, this year she is flooded in ( this time last year her house at Warwick got storm damage and is still under repair, now she is at my nephew's at Lightening Ridge NSW and the water is coming down from QLD and it is WAY to dangerous for her to even attempt - upsets all around

So we get a belated one with her when it is safe for her to travel, So christmas will be quieter this year...

LW, what a perfect opportunity to get things ready for your sister without her interfering! Big Grin

Marie, I'm with you! I love putting up lots of decorations! When I was a kid, my parents were both teaching and they were busy with final exams almost up until Christmas. So we never had much in the way of decorations or anything until less than a week before the holiday. Now I like to decorate starting in November, right after American Thanksgiving, and have my house done up for the holidays for about 6 weeks! Big Grin

And isn't it interesting how they're both Condors????? Wink

I love Lego too! It was the thing I played with the most as a kid, for sure.

Enjoying everyone's holiday stories here. I've also gotten nostalgic today and gone looking through old pictures...

I present "Christmas morning 1971." My brother is being suspiciously nice to me (I'm the one in pink) -but no doubt he and my sister were plotting something...

Take note, all, of how puny my stocking is compared to everyone else's!! Laugh2 Looks like we've already emptied them though -we always did that first, then proceeded to the wrapped gifts.

Oh, that picture is so sweet, LB! And, I have to agree with you that given that grin on your brother's face, and the way he's looking at your sister, there was surely something going on there!

My kids do the same! They'd empty their stockings first, and then they'd assault the parcels under the tree! Their stockings should be definitely equally sized though, or else there'd surely be trouble!

LW ... I admire you and your family for how you accept each other! That's how a family should be ... unfortunately not everyone has such an open mind and heart!Huggles

TJ ... I do just like you! I start decorating the last week of November (I'm thankful that this year I was also able to meet my own expectations since things seemed to have to move at a slower pace!), and sadly put everything back in their boxes the second week of January! Regarding Gatchgirl and Amethyst ... nope I'm not surprised, at all! The Condorish essence is obviously there!!

iagree I also think you're right, LB. Your brother and sister do look like they are conspiring, and from the look on your brother's face it doesn't look good.

Hopefully, you were able to turn the table on him, if not that year, in later years. A little sibling rivalry can be a fun thing if it doesn't go too far.

The old pics of Christmas mornings of yore do get me feeling all sentimental -it's definitely a magical time of year and so very exciting when you're little.

The injustice of it never even occurred to me as a kid (I guess I just accepted that I was smaller, therefore my stocking had to be small too) -I think I had that little stocking until I was about 9 or so, when I finally got a bigger one. I guess I was sort of attached to it, after all those years, and "Santa" just set the things that wouldn't fit into it on the shelf immediately behind it, so I wasn't getting shorted on the goodies.

No, I have to say, that never did happen...
