hello everyone

I have been a lurker for over a year now and have finally got up the courage to post. I remember watching Battle of the Planets as a child, and ever since have created a world and story line that has followed me ever since.
Then while surfing the net a few years back I stumbled upon "Battle" and into the world of Gatchaman. I have been hooked ever since and find myself returning again and again to many sites.

I love reading all the fics that I can access, but unfortunately am not a writer, so have not attempted to write any of my stories (even though Eagles, Condors and Swans run around in my head daily).

BTW not only am I a newbie to this site but a newbie to forums so I hope I do not embarrass myself too much by making too many mistakes or asking too many stupid questions

You sound just like me when I first started into the madness...I said "I'm not a writer" too...but twenty some fanfics and jillions of drawings and paintings later...here I am...it's addictive I tell you!

I would suggest that you write some of your ieas down...and if you don't want to try to write...post it as a challenge...and maybe one of the wonderful writers will take you up on the idea. Or...you could see if someone wants to write with you...to help you get your feet wet. I know you wouldn't regret it!

The rubber room is one of the first places I want to visit. I hope the rumors about that room are all true.

Thanks for the welcome Springie (and Gatchgirl). I have read many of your ficies (and seen your picies) at other sites and just love them. I can not see myself doing so well in the writing field. (Everytime I set pen to paper I still hear the criticism of my teachers and laughter of my classmates at my attempts, even 20+ years later.) It will take a lot to get me writing anything down. For now I will keep it all in my head.

Thanks for the loan of the yo-yo but I think I will stick with my tail feather shuriken.

If you want to try it, do so! Sure, there are experts here and there, some of whom will give advice if you ask, but mostly this group just wants to kick back and enjoy what's offered. Short, long, finished or not, Angst or fluff, action or reflection, canon or alt, it's all welcome. Pick an idea that intrigues you and run with it. Writing may be a lot easier now that you're away from that environment. Or you may like sketching, or captioning, or cheering. Whatever you like, do!

I am beginning to understand why I joined this site Your energy and sense of humor have me in stitches with laughter. My students keep wondering why I am laughing instead of "reading." (I have quiet reading time right now.) By the time I think of a good zinger, someone else has thought of something and already posted.

Cep, I am not sure how much I have to worry about Polly the chicken, us cloud "raptors" love to swoop down and eat chickens. Besides, me being such a quiet, shy person would not post anything too shocking. But, then I say that, and six months ago, who would have thought I would even do such a thing as this.

Perhaps I am already becoming corupted. hmmmm have to think on that.

Imaqtz please watch where you put those shuriken while you are frisking me and keep that UBERDESTRUCTO 3000 to yourself.

I get the same look at work Clouddancer... thats when I'm reading on of the many fics..... I too was a little slow at starting the comebacks...(I think) but once it started I felt at home... and Imi sure knows how to livin a place up!
