Throughout Gatchaman, one of the standout elements were the various cool Iron Beast mecha that the bad guys used -- thank you, Mitsuki Nakamura and Kunio Okawara. Is there a particular enemy mecha that stands out above the rest? Which one? And what is it about that one that makes it better than the rest?
I think the peacocks were the ones I liked, if I had to like one, and that's simply because they drew their victims to them by looking well, like peacocks really. Who wouldn't stop to watch them strut around displaying their magnificent tail plumage?
Of course, when enough people were captivated by the extraordinary display they strike with the full force of the mind controlling rays!
Their effectiveness is second perhaps only to the Jigokillers, but at least the victims would survive and recover.

I'm awful at these favorites questions! I agree, though, that I love the peacocks, or maybe it's that I love that episode for a wide variety of reasons.
As an audio engineer, my favourite is the Sonic Mecha from the Murder Music episode. I love how it looks like a cross between a pipe organ and a tape player! I also kind of love the corny idea that you can cause death and destruction with music.
It's a little annoying that they got the science of how to nullify the sound waves wrong though.
