Alan Rickman should do that voice very well indeed - as if his tones could get any more lugubrious
A review I read today says that Beeblebrox's extra head pops out from under his chin. So I wonder if he sprouts an extra arm too, and if so where from?

I saw what I assume was the full trailer for Hitchhikers as opposed to the one they have been showing on TV. It was one of the best trailers I've seen in a while because it makes fun of movie trailers. I can't wait to see this one.
I agree with you there Meridian hun, that site is much better then the official studio site, not to mention the fact that it provides the option of using quicktime or media player. Which by the way is great because media player is crap at playing online video.
So, I went to go see it yesterday (yes, I took my towel). It is FABULOUS. There were some changes, but they were all in character with the story (which changed everytime it switched mediums, anyway). Probably my only complaint would be that it feels too short (yes, even at 110 minutes).
Nope. I've heard the radio broadcast (the first version of Hitchhiker's), read the books, seen the movie, and seen the videogame. It's on my to-do list, though.
I've seen the TV series a few times, and we used to listen to tapes of the radio play while driving to visit my parents. Can't wait till the kids are old enough for that.
We saw the movie. I don't think you'd miss anything if this were your first experience with it, but you do need to appreciate the humour style. You're right that it changes every time it changes medium; adds some details the others didn't have, and takes away others.
This version had a few serious threads woven into it that the others didn't have. Trillian was very different. Not sure if it helped it or not.
It's sort of fun seeing how one author can do so many things with the same basic ideas.
