Okay, to all the people who keep saying "WTF!? U ALL ARE TOO CONCERNED ABOUT WHITNEY HOUSTON DYING WHILE THERE ARE SOLDIERS PUTTING THEIR LIFE ON THE LINE TRYING TO PROTECT OUR COUNTRY!", this is really getting old. Yes, it really REALLY sucks when someone who fights for our country to keep it safe is killed, when has it not?! But what are you people saying?! That these famous people who die and touched millions of people's lives shouldn't have their lives remembered or celebrated just because they didn't fight for the country?! Who gives a shit what kind of problems they had (drugs, alcohol, etc.)?!?! They touched millions of lives and they SHOULD be remembered and have their lives celebrated because of that. I'm sick and tired of this! I never was a big fan of Whitney's music, but I know what an impact she had on the world, and I RESPECT THE DEAD. Jesus Christ! This is WORSE than when those butt-hurt Macross fans were celebrating Carl Macek's death! Are you serious?! Is this what this world is coming to?! People wanting others to not give a shit about somebody famous or anyone in that vein dying?!?!? Jesus! I guess John Belushi shouldn't be remembered either, because he did drugs and alcohol, and he was one of the funniest people that ever walked the earth! What about John Lennon?! He wanted the whole world just to love each other and get along, and some scumbag just creeps up behind him and shoots him in the back! But hey! He didn't fight in a war or anything, so why should we remember him?! HMM?! *sarcasm in case you didn't notice*

First off, I hope this was able to help you feel better. I know that, sometimes, people get so frustrating that it seems as if the only way to set things right is to start punching every idiot in the nose.

Having said that, I hope that you may come to see that the people who criticized the amount of coverage Whitney's death has received might not have communicated their opinion very well.

It's true that she was a great inspiration and had the gift of a unique, wonderful voice. However, the media has acted as though her death would cause the world's governments to fall, which obviously isn't the case. The coverage has gone far over the top. And, to top it off, the airwaves are now being flooded by baseless speculations about the cause of her death. I can't tell you how much I wanted to scream at the TV each time Nancy Grace claims somebody held Whitney under the water in her bathtub or a "medical expert" lectures about abusing prescription drugs. (True, there were prescription medications in the room, but, for all we know right now, they could have just been a couple of antibiotics to treat a yeast infection, for pity's sake!)

Usually, when somebody brings the way are soldiers are treated into the conversation, it's to show the incredible disparity between the famous and those whose jobs make it possible for the famous to have their lifestyle. Could you imagine what the world would be like if the Taliban still ruled Afghanistan and gave Al Quaeda a safe haven? Would we live in a world where 9/11 was just a warm-up pitch? These people volunteered to do the dangerous stuff all over the world so that we wouldn't have to use a draft to force the general population into doing it. And what's their reward? They're ignored and paid so little that their families qualify for Welfare.

I'm sure the people you're fed up with don't mean we should just burn Whitney's body and flush the ashes down the toilet. I believe they just want the media to take things down a notch or two. They don't have to go on these morbid flights of fancy when the police and medical examiners haven't analyzed the evidence enough to reach a concrete conclusion. And they should back down and let her poor family grieve in peace.

I ageee with EW.

I liked her music, but she's not the first and sadly won't be the last woman to hook up with the wrong guy, get hooked on drugs and probably died prematurely.

Are any of those women being honored? No.

No, but maybe something good can from this. Maybe once her family is done grieving, they can turn this tragedy around so that others can learn from this.

Was it accident or murder? Who cares. The fact is most she did what thousands of other women have done before and more will do in the future. Having it happen to someone who was rich and famous may make a few women take notice and stand up for themselves.

Well I don't watch TV for the news, I read the news on the internet, so I wouldn't have known.
