Anyone out there looking for subjects for term papers or dissertations could find some hints in Science Ninja Team Gatchaman and its sequels. Maybe even from the derived series.
1. Electricity generation using solar power. Aside from how it works now, you could write about the topic historically. How did researchers think it would work back in the beginning? (I notice that any technical mention of solar power mentions using lenses to focus the sun's rays. Was this initially how they expected to harness solar radiation?)
2. Real-life vitalumis would require what?
3. A real-life cryno-gun: possible, or not? Includes the 'Blizzarder' weapon. Could freezing temps be projected that way? How quickly would it work? (Note that this need not be a weapon. I'm sure there are industrial uses for such a device, if only for emergency cooling. Imagine what sort of catastrophe requires that sort of thing. Hey, that could be another topic!)
I'm sure #3 has been the subject of research by the military. Sigh.
Okay, I just ran out of ideas. I might think of more.
Anyone else have any?
