Spiderman 2 Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Post Report Post to a Moderator        IP Information Go to the top of this page

Whoooot Whoooot Whoooot!

The critics were right on the money!

Spiderman 2 rocked my socks! Not only was it truer to the ongoing serial angst of the character, but both visually and plot-wise, it was the most well rounded and enjoyable superhero movies to come out of Hollywood, nay, the entire western market, ever. Just my humble opinion.

I'm not gonna ruin the movie for those of you who haven't seen it by offering spoiliers, though I'm chomping at the bit to describe favorite scenes. I will say GO SEE IT! I walked out of that movie with a silly grin and a satisfied sigh.

I've loved Spiderman for years and years. He is quite possibly the most perfect example of what it means to be a superhero to me that I've ever seen. Even the now overused tagline of the series is still so very awesome. "With great power, comes great responsibility". I still get chills when I think of the ramifications of that. I'll even go a step further and risk a birdrang by saying that the bird kiddies could learn a thing or two from Spiderman! Ken comes close with his dedication to duty and the parallels of remaining true to a father's memory...but even he falls short in my mind. Less mature to me I think. Ah, that is a debate for another thread!

This Spiderman movie was da Bomb!

You beat me to this post!!!! hehe I have like no time to write anything.

Anyway, I think I remember hearing that Roger Ebert said this was the best super hero movie that he had ever seen. This movie just kicked ass!!!!! What makes this movie so great is everything that happens from the scene on the train until the end of the film. If you've seen it you know exactly what I'm talking about. For those of you that haven't seen it I won't ruin it for you. I also want to talk about certain scenes, BUT I JUST CAN...MUST HOLD BACK. This is what summer movies are all about.

If you want to talk about certain scenes, just post a huge SPOILER alert at the top of the post so people can skip it.

As for Spiderman 2, it has definitely raised the bar of all action hero movies, particularly ones that deal with superheroes. I'm hoping other movies in this genre live up to this one--then we'd finally have live action superheroes that live up to their comic book counterparts! Big Grin

I said this on another list once and I will say it again. The reason why Spidey kicks ass so much is because they stayed true to the comic and didn't alter it.
Because, let's face it folks, whenever they alter something drastically you are a diehard fan of, it's upsetting.
Yes Spiderman II rocked. I will even pay the 8 bucks to see it again.

I loved the way it paid homage to the other versions hubby and I knew. I saw lots from the cartoon; he felt right at home coming from the comic book. I really liked the nods it gave to the stuff that they couldn't actually include in the new version.

I liked the physique of the villain. Not the usual action-villain.

I liked the CGI of him "flying". Slightly different texture from the rest of the show, emphasizing the speed non-human nature of it.

Overall, I liked the entire thing.

Eek Eight bucks?! Wow...theaters around here vary from 4-5 bucks for matinees.

Loved it. Probably one of my favorites. It's hard to talk about what I like, because I didn't dislike anything. Great all around. Big Grin

Only complaint I've heard comes from some die-hard action fans who thought the movie got a bit melodramatic. They felt Doc Ock was more a subplot than the main theme, and that Mary Jane and her man were way too center stage. Reason for that, of course, is to set up for Spiderman 3... Big Grin

Yeah, this movie rocked. I liked the first movie, maybe not as much as everyone else, but I still liked it. This one blew it away though. Can't wait for the sequels.

I LOVED this film to pieces!!! I went in not having seen a trailor and not knowing what to expect.

I certainly wasn't expecting a romance and I wasn't expecting to be SUCKED IN completley and utterly by it!!!

I hate romances. But this was just too convincing and there was too much sexual chemistry buzzing between those two to not enjoy it.

The dialogue was fantastic, the sense of pace, the moodiness and quirky humour were all absolutely delightful.

Yeah, for once, the baddie didn't occupy a lot of screen time. Thats fine with me. I get sick of that. It wasn't an Action Flick - it was like a drama with a bit of action of in it...normally, something I'd run screaming from, but in this instance, handled incredibly well by the director.

My fave scene, (without spoilers) is right towards the end with the runaway train thing and what happens after that. I LOVED IT!

GO SEE IT EVERYONE!!

Big enough warning?

Okay, my 2 fave scenes are when everyone on the train sees his face and a guy remarks how spidey is not much older than his own son...and then kids hand his mask back to him and promise not to tell anyone about his ID. Awwww.....

And the second fave...when his best mate bitch slaps him in public not once but TWICE...ah god...that was just...woah! Yeah, the fan fiction ideas were racing through my head at hundred miles an hour...whooo!!!

I saw Spider-Man 2 on dvd a couple days ago and loved it. Among the villians of future installments I hope they include Venom, my favorite Spider-Man foe.
