Wondering if the Science Ninjas don't die of "unintentional injury" (rather likely -they do risky stuff) if they're next most likely to commit suicide. Yikes. Cancer is #3 and Homicide is #4. For them, I think Homicide (by Galactor) would be a lot higher! But then, Ken does get sick in Gatchaman Fighter.
Me, let's see...
1. Cancer (not so worried but you never know...) 2. Unintentional injury (Me -it would probably be a car accident) 3. Heart disease (not so worried...) 4. Suicide (Nope.) 5. Liver disease (I do drink a lot of wine...) 6. Stroke (Sure hope not!)7. Diabetes (Nope) 8. Homicide (Eek -hope not!) 9. CLRD (I don't even know what this is) 10. Flu/Pneumonia (not so worried).
It would be interesting to try and make out this chart for a Galactor goon.
1. Onboard mecha when it blows up.
2. Hand to hand fighting.
3. Throat slit by boomerang.
4. Feather shuriken poison.
5. Yo-yo (strangling or smacking).
6. Killed to amuse Lord Katse.
7. Fall from catwalk.
8. Gunshot
I'm going for motorised wheel chair accident, hopped up on sugar chasing a cute orderly around, while trying to escape the retirement home (age 100+)
or "little death" after an amazing multiple orgasm with a big smile on my face (100+) (with a Joe or Ryu look alike at least 30 years younger)
9. Depression / Drugs - having to deal with Captain of the week
10. Embarrasment - having to work in the Ridiculous Mechas
11. Suffocation - Ill fitting uniform

Exactly! That's why I wouldn't want them anywhere near me if I were sick or injured! If they weren't slicing you up "experimentally" then they'd be turning you into a cyborg, or injecting you with drugs to keep you alive a little longer so Katse can torture you some more.

Which also brings up the idea, are some of them clones? Why else would they throw their troops away?
Good idea -a lot of them sure do tend to resemble each other! Though there are some goons who are different in body shape -but I think they all have exactly the same hair colour. It could be said they have 3 clone-types, maybe? Regular, short-and-round and tall-and-skinny.
I guess the "throwing away" is a result of Katse's complete callousness to their suffering but Galactor must have a really good recruiting department (and/or cloning facility) as they never seem to run out of goons no matter how many die in droves.
The clones idea is a fun one. I've played with that a bit in a couple of fics (including the issues with 'replicative fading' ) . In one fic I theorized that the majority of the Spectran army was clones, who were used on the 'front lines' like cannon fodder, while the 'real' men were used at places like Headquarters and in Captain's positions... places where *thinking* was required.
