I much prefer Gatchaman now, the story actually makes sense (well, as much as a story with giant animal shaped mecha can make sense anyway ; ) Watching a BotP episode (Giant Space Bat) recently was so frustrating that I had to find out what actually happened, glad I did! I think that I'd find it hard to watch the BotP episodes now, even though some of them do have an interesting take on the original. |

'Galaxy Girls' follows the plot of 'The Plan to Assassinate Dr. Nambu' very closely, but once you've seen the original, you see how G2 was short-changed. (And if you follow the Sandy Frank production order for BotP, you can see how that blunted the impact when Mark learns that Cronus is his father.)
On the other hand, 'Victims of the Hawk' has a much better explanation for the young lovers on the battlefield than the Gatch original. After that, though....
