Many people have problems downloading the fics here. You need to add the .zip extension to the files you download. Even with that, some people still have difficulty opening them up. Realistically, about 95%+ of these fics can be found at ff.net or http://www.gatchfanfic.com , so if you're really interested in reading something, you might be better off looking there.
I've never had much luck getting them either. It used to work for me occasionally but now it never does. That's why none of my fics are in the fic library here.
TJ's right -I think nearly all those fics are posted at the Archives or ff.net. Evangelina's "Occupational Hazards" is the only exception that currently comes to mind -and it's well worth reading.

That one's posted at Bird Go and in the RUbber Room.
As Joe figures very prominently in it, it's one of my favourites.

The problem with a number of the fics is that people uploaded files without their file extension. Which is why some authors work and some don't (without you adding the ".zip" back on the filename).
Zip files are very easy to open, if your running XP or Vista winzip (the program used to open them) is actually inbuilt into the operating system.
If not just download and install a free version such as IZarc.
You just right click the zip file and on the context menu you will see an option "extract all". You can even double click the zip file and win zip will automatically open and prepare to unzip the file.
I tried again, using Winzip, and I added the .zip extension, but the two that I tried won't open for me. I get a message saying "Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive." Maybe I'm not adding the .zip extension correctly? I used the "rename" function to do it.
Cep, it looks like a common problem for the all archives: <br /><b>Warning</b>: readfile(./filebase/archivenumber .zip) [<a href='function.readfile'>function.readfile</a>]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in <b>/home/cepsdcom/public_html/gatch/filebase_entry.php</b> on line <b>253</b><br />

This is the same error message that I got when I tried renaming one of them with "doc" instead of "zip" and opening it with MS Word. Maybe it wasn't a doc or a zip file...
Yul, that is cool image of Katse as the Joker! It never occured to me before that they do have some similarities.
Whatever you did, Cep, it worked! As a test, I downloaded Evangelina's Occupational Hazards, renamed it to have a .zip extension and then Winzip opened it up just fine, where it would not before.
