Today, the local TV stations have been focused on the latest winter storm to hit the area. However, they have taken time now and then to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the March 2nd tornadoes. (If you want to take another look at the security camera footage of Henryville High School getting hit, I’ve put the link at the end of this.)
Now, just imagine the fear and confusion that hit me when the city’s tornado sirens went off.
How could this be possible?!? I’ve never heard of tornadoes happening when sleet’s coming down!
But then I remembered one little detail: it’s the first weekend of the month...time for the monthly test. (Duh.)
Anyway, if you want to revisit a jaw-dropping event in history, check this out:
I can see how it would be easy to get an adrenaline jolt hearing the tornado sirens after all the "remember the tornados?" coverage. Envisioning a Snownado? (Not quite as freaky as a Sharknado but less chompy, too.)
Hang in there. Maybe relief that there's no tornados makes the snow a bit easier to bear?
Yes and so are we off work by choice. My son doesn't care, except I'm making him work ahead on his homework. I'm having back problems and there's no way I'm risking falling on the ice right now to make things worse.
I am soooooo sick of this winter. I need to hit the lottery and move to southern Florida.
