I was 160 lbs, now I'm 170 lbs, and a month or two ago, my pants went from a waist 29 to a waist 31. And that also means I can't wear my Ken costume to any future cons until I lose the 10 lbs I gained. Things just keep getting worse. I don't know what to do.
Quite simply put, you need to get moving. Go for walks, join a gym, join a basketball team or whatever sport you like. Get active and you'll look even better in that costume the next time around.
This is the point where you have to choose to do something about it - or live with it. Ten pounds is nothing, twenty, thirty, forty - they're the ones you have to worry about. If you choose to do nothing now, that's what you'll probably be looking at in the future.
So make the decision, Allen. What are you going to do about it?

Honey, you should re-read what I wrote. I mentioned nothing about what you're eating - just that you should move more.
Yes, certain medications have that effect, but it can be countered by exercise. The warnings about weight gain often come with the advice of taking up physical exercise - if you are able to do so.
At the very least you will know that you are doing everything you can to counteract what's happening and that in turn will have positive effects on you and how you're approaching this.

He went from a 29 waist to a 34 waist in less than 12 months ... and you know what? I've never found him more sexy than he is right now.
Green's right, though. Get out and get active. It's the only way you'll shift what you've gained. And heck, the fresh air and exercise will probably make you feel so much better about yourself, too ... and make you feel that much more healthy.
Sitting about and worrying about it will only make you feel that much worse.

Why do men snore when lying on their backs? Because their balls fall over their butt holes and they vapour lock.
I usually don't chime in on these things but.... It is cold, but there are things you can do indoors that will help you get moving. Most indoor malls open their doors early for people who want to walk, even on weekends. That's where I start my training this time of year for the half marathon I do. I take it outdoors when the weather is better.
There are simple things you can do too. Grab a couple of cans of vegetables out of the cabinet and use them as weights. You can do a great stretch and strengthen program with nothing more than two cans and a sturdy chair.
Just some of my thoughts from a cold-climate dweller.
Ohhhh, come one Allen !! You are down in the "South" it can't be as cold as it is up here in the North country where we had -19 c temps with a wind chill factor making it feel like -28.
I managed to get out for a "short" time in that. I am sure you can get out in your cold temps. A nice brisk walk does wonders and gets you out into the sunshine which we see so little of at this time of the year.
But I do have to agree with you Allen. The cold temps does make it hard to want to get out and get good long walks in, or runs if you are into that.

You sit in it. It's for doing things like leg-lifts. You can also use it for ballance while doing various stretches. There's also an exercise where you put your hands behind you on the seat of the chair and lower yourself, with your legs straight between the chair and the floor. This should only be done with a very solid and stable piece of furnature. You don't want it to slide while you're supporting yourself on your hands.
Check on the internet Allen - there are lots of sites you can visit to show you exercises that can be done with a chair. Exercises like abdominal and bicep crunches. Lots of people in offices like doing these exercises since they can not move far from their desks or do not have much room to exercise in.
In school we mostly use the chair as a support for those children who do not have their balance yet, as Garnet said. Especially when doing one legged exercises like leg raises or circles.

it makes housework a lot easier....and I bet I'm not the only one who has used the vacumn cleaner or the broom as and temporary dance partner..it also make it more fun and laughter makes you feel better

That's a good advice, and the most probable one I myself would choose out of all! This is a Saturday night must for our family (except for my DH, who limits himself to just watching!), when health permits, and if there could be any other chance during the week, we take it! Apart from the workout it's even a very good way to leave troubles behind, and you lose a lot of tension! It's also ideal when outside is very cold!
There could also be another good workout when it's possible, but I don't think it's good for me to mention it right here *giggle*!
