Okay, here are some brief answers. Brief mostly because I don't have a whole lot of time to spare right now (Hey, cut me some slack. It's my anniversary and my wife and I have dinner plans).

1. Egobossler's base is originally located in Satanforhen. When shown on a map, this appears to be approximately where Berlin is in our world. Satanforhen was destroyed in Gatchaman Fighter #'s 14 and 15. At the end of Gatchaman Fighter #15, Governor Z builds a duplicate of Satanforhen underground in Iberia (The Gatchaman Fighter equivilent of Siberia). This new location is named Gallatown. Gallatown is destroyed in Gatchaman Fighter #43. Governor Z then rebuilds the Gallatown (Though in a far more mechanical form than the original rustic look it once had) inside a cavern in a desert in Ameris. As far as we are shown, this location remains undamaged when the series ends.

The exact look of Satanforhern and the original Gallatown wasn't always a concrete thing. Some times it looked something like a stereotypical small European town, while other times it looked more like a modern small town. Far more consistent was the general layout of the place, which included the city surrounding a hill in the center of town. On top of the hill was Egobossler's castle, which looked like a stereotypical European castle.

The later Gallatown had the same basic layout as the original, but looked like it was made entirely of mechanical pieces. Not exactly homey, though Egobossler's new castle looked essentially the same as the original.

2. No, though he could teleport himself at will, and could pop in floating above any of these locations whenever he wished.

3. No, it did not.

4. Kamo is not a Doctor. He is the Chief Engineeer of the I.S.O., and he does not take control of the I.S.O. after Nambu is killed. Exactly who does take over as Director is not revealed.

5. The pendant was something that Nambu had left with Kamo with instructions to give it to Ken and the others when things looked their worst, as a personal momento of his for them to carry with them. Kamo gave it to them before they left on their final mission in Gatchaman Fighter #47.

6. Sadly, this question requires a much longer answer than I have time for right now.

- Z: Egobossler, you and Galactor have finished your part.
- EGO: I salute your work, Overlord Z. You really prepared this

-with us, you were guiding the antimatter asteroid in.
- Z: Does that upset you, Egobossler?
- EGO: No. I've gotten over being angry at my own stupidity, and now

-Ken and Joe are facing off against each other with shuriken and fencer.

- JOE: We don't have time to stand around and talk! Now move!
- KEN: If you want to go, Joe, you have to do it over my dead body!

- KEN: Yeah. That's right, Joe. You're trying to get yourself

- KEN: It must be Overlord Z, controlling it! How could we be so

- JOE: The "strings"'ve gotta be the Cosmic Pulse. That's why
-Director Nambu was so worried about it. Jinpei, you're a genius.

- KEN: Yeah, a genius of geniuses!
- JOE: Ken, let's go!

- EGO: All right, follow me! Z's body may be large, but its brain's

-Joe looks off, listening to a heartbeat and the sound of breathing, and is

- KEN: Joe! What's wrong?
- JOE: Can't you hear it? It's Z.
- KEN: Joe...
- JOE: It's Z. Ken, do you remember? Dr. Rafael said you couldn't
-destroy X without me. Z must be the same thing.
- JINPEI: Huh?
- JOE: I can hear him breathing. Once I get near, my black box
-should react and go off.
- KEN: So this *is* the room my Fencer hit, then.
- JOE: But how're we going to get up there?
- JINPEI: Let's use the Whirlwind Fighter!
- JOE: No, we can't. If we use the Whirlwind Fighter in our
-condition, we'll break ourselves to pieces before we ever find Z's brain.
- JINPEI (starting to lose it) So-- so what should we do?
- JOE: Shut up, Jinpei! I'm thinking!
- JINPEI: We've gotten all this way-- right in front of the enemy--
-and yet there's nothing we can do!
- KEN: Jinpei's right. For all that we've come so far, there's still
-nothing we can do. (takes out the pendant) Director, what can we do? The
-G-mecha are broken, and we're exhausted from the fight inside Z. We don't
-have the power to fly up there. What is there for us to do? Has God
-abandoned us?
- JOE: Ken, the G-2 mech might still be working.
- KEN: Really? Okay, Joe! Carry the four of us on your mecha and
-drive up the wall so we can get into the central nervous system! Can you do
-it?
- JOE: I can try.
- KEN: Jun, Ryu, Jinpei: I've forced you to fight so long, so hard.
-But this is the end of it. No matter what-- even if you're on the edge of
-the abyss of despair-- don't think the word "defeat". If you think of it,
-we'll lose. Even if just one of us thinks it!
- JINPEI: Your words make sense as usual, aniki. We won't die,
-right? We're not going to die... (starts to cry)
- JUN: Jinpei...
- KEN: Let's go!

-They drive to Z's central nervous system. Jun finds Egobossler's dead body
-and gasps.

- JOE: What's wrong? (sees the body) Egobossler! So you were
-fighting this battle, too...

-Ken opens the locket, and sees the picture of Egobossler's mother. He

- KEN: So Egobossler was human after all. Like us. (5)
- Z: Welcome to my central nervous system.
- KEN: Z!
- Z: You've done very well so far. But can you find me? There are 2
-minutes and 37 seconds left.

-Joe targets in on Z's brain.

- JOE: There it is!

-He runs to it, smashes through the protective capsule, and starts manually
-tugging Z out.

- KEN: Joe, what're you doing?
- JOE: I feel his mind inside this hood barrier! Ken, destroy this
-with your Fencer before my black box reaction peaks!
- KEN: Right!

-Ken runs to do it, but an energy field throws him and everybody but Joe
-into the walls. Joe successfully manages to smash the glass around Z's
-brain, and the field dies. Joe collapses.

- JOE: Ken... I leave it... to you..
- KEN: That's it? That's what Z really is?
- Z: You've destroyed so many of my plans, Gatchaman, but it seems
-this last one escapes you! The Earth will be destroyed in 1 minute, 30
-seconds!
- KEN: Shit!

-Back on Earth.

- TECH: The antimatter asteroid will reach the critical phase in 1
-minute, 23 seconds! 22! 21!
- KAMO: Gatchaman!
- NARRATOR: A strange quiet lies over the Earth now. In one minute,
-it will be destroyed.

-Back in Z.
-
- KEN: I-- I will protect the Earth! (sees Z) This-- this little
-thing's what's bothered us so long-- (brings down the Fencer) Get out of
-here! Get out of this universe!

-He slices Z in half. There is a deafening scream, and Z's body teleports
-into space. Back on Earth.
-
- TECH: The movement of the antimatter asteroid has stopped!
- KAMO: What?
- TECH: It stopped at point 3542!
-
-Aboard Z's body, there are explosions. Ken collapses, and sees Nambu appear
-in a limbo of blue.
-
- NAMBU: Ken!
- KEN: Director!
- NAMBU: {Ken, destroying Overlord Z was never your only duty. You
-must live! Live, and see the Earth return to normal. This is what I ask of
-you: that you live and return to Earth. Stand up and walk, Gatchaman! You
-are the Phoenix! You are immortal! Immortal!}
- KEN: Director! *Director! *

-In the real world, he is holding the pendant. He gasps for breath, and his
-eyes glaze over, as he goes limp and the pendant falls from his hands. It
-glows and rises into the air, summoning all the G-mecha to join it. There
-are explosions everywhere, and brilliant glowing light from the uniting
-mecha, and Ken opens his eyes.
- Outside, as Z's body destroys itself, the Phoenix flies from the
-body, toward Earth.

-Back on Earth.

- TECH: The antimatter asteroid is receding!
- TECH 2: It looks like Z was manipulating it.
-
-Outside Earth's orbit, its magnetic field fails, and it blows up. What's
-left continues to recede.
-
- KAMO: It's vanished... But them! What about the Ninja Team?
- TECH: We don't know. But just before the antimatter asteroid
-exploded, a large object seems to have flown out of Z and headed for Earth.
- KAMO: I see. Thank you.

-He goes outside and looks at the sky. The UN man follows.

- UN MAN: I guess-- the Science Ninja Team-- Gatchaman-- they're
-probably dead, right? And if they are, we're the ones who killed them-- who
-killed Gatchaman, at least. He was so exhausted, and we sent him out to
-fight... But we couldn't stop the destruction of his cells. And then we
-forced him to keep fighting.
- KAMO: Gatchaman-- and the Science Ninja Team-- they're alive. I
-know it. No matter what, they could survive.
- NARR: The star of evil that threatened the Earth, the antimatter
-asteroid, exploded at the critical stage and took Z with it. The core has
-become a rogue star, floating in space forever. Now a phoenix flies,
-believing in Earth's future. Fly, phoenix warriors! Fly, eternal Gatchaman!

-I have none of my usual somewhat irreverent comments on continuity and
-scientific glitches to make-- not because they're not there, but because
-these two episodes are such a powerful emotional experience that to nitpick
-would cheapen it. However, I do have a few little things to clear up, here
-and there.
- 1. Brackets {} indicate that nobody's mouth is moving-- or in
-other words, this is a telepathic conversation. And people don't believe me
-when I say the Gatchamen have psi.
- 2. "Limbo" is my translation of "akukan", literally subspace. It's
-the dimension between dimensions, where you go when you teleport, and it
-apparently messes with the human brain.
- 3. I think that where they were before that, was they were still
-in limbo. Z had taken its own central nervous system out of limbo, but left
-most of the Ninja Team in it. Now we know how Z can keep those huge mechs
-inside himself-- he generates pocket dimensions within him. Although it
-looked as if they were falling when they left the weird dimensions, when
-they materialized it was on the floor standing upright, making me believe
-that a lot of what you see in these alternate dimensions isn't actually
-happening.
- 4. Obviously Z neither breathes nor has a heart. Joe's mind is
-probably interpreting the life signs he senses in human terms so he can
-understand them.
- 5. Ken means "human" in the traditional sense of "he had human
-feelings", not as a contrast to Berg Katse and Gel Sadra, who were
-supposedly biologically not human.
- General note: Mari says that this ending leaves no doubt in *her*
-mind, at least (actually, what she said was, "I'm Japanese, so I know.")
-that they are alive. Even if Ken did die, he came back to life because of
-the pendant. Lines like "You are immortal" do tend to bear her theory out--
-at no point does it state that they're dead, and it states several times
-that they can't be dead. Of course, in what *form* they're not dead can
-still be debated.
