There’s no easy way to say this, but I just found out Amethyst died last year. I was on her FB page today and her entries stop April 2022. Later posts reference her death and wish her a happy heavenly birthday.

Oh no, belated condolences to her family.

She did so much for this community, from starting Bradbury's Jar, to the gift exchanges, and this forum wouldn't have become what it was without her.

She did a lot in Gatchamania in engaging the community and making it enjoyable.
She will be missed.

I've just been gutted and my innards have hit the floor.

She had great ideas and I enjoy what she had to say in our group conversations.

When I post a Bradbury's jar, I feel as if I let her down when nobody answers -- she was so much better at it than me.

At least she's not suffering any more.

Maybe she's engaged with a fandom on the Other Side.

I let some long-term members know who are on Facebook that do not come here often or at all any more. They were saddened by the news and shocked that Ame is gone.

I hope she had a firebird escort with the team.
