I'm a big music nerd. Music is also one of my fallback coping mechanisms, especially when I'm feeling down.
Since the last few days have been rough, sad and generally crappy for a lot of people, I thought it might be fun to start a game of sorts.
All you have to do is post a song that makes you feel good, for whatever reason. You can post the name. You can also post a link to the You Tube video (if it's up there), Spotify (or any of the streaming services. I happen to subscribe to Spotify), or any other place where someone can have a listen if they wish.
If you want, you can also tell us why this song makes you happy or makes you feel good. You can post songs that other people have posted. The only criteria is that it makes you feel good.
I'm not as much bummed out as pissed off. I have a very low tolerance level when it comes to the right- and left-wing extremists who were spouting off within seconds of the news about Orlando breaking.
There are a couple of songs by Meat Loaf that often come to mind when I'm in this kind of mood:
I like "It's Time" by Imagine Dragons, it often makes me smile. In my head Ken is usually singing it and doing the sound effects (the slap/clap stuff). I love listening to music (I listen while I'm doing physio or yoga or driving) and often have music videos playing my head. Ken usually gets conscripted just because.
I have no idea how to post links, but the one song that never fails to lift me up when I'm down is Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon. For some reason, the second I hear it, I can picture that scene where Jun and Jinpei are dancing every single time!
