While Genesis head honcho Phil Collins was riding high with his smash album "No Jacket Required" and keyboardist Tony Banks was working on film scores, guitarist and bassist Mike Rutherford put together a new band called Mike + The Mechanics, featuring Squeeze frontman Paul Carrack on vocals. I've only got their first two albums, but let me say both of them are PHENOMENAL! I especially like the first album they made. Silent Running, All I Need Is A Miracle, Taken In, songs like are so great. And I cannot go without mentioning the title track from their second album Living Years. That is a beautiful and uplifting song!
