Monday 8 March is International Woman's Day and the theme for 2010 is "Women Leading the Way".

I'm off today at work hosting a day long Forum celebrating the incredible women of Queensland's Emergency Services.

However, in celebration of powerful women, here's our favorite Swan!

IWD is the day for us Swannies to shine!

I must admit - I love that last pic - it's just so well drawn and with such expression.

Where are the Eagle and Condor to provide comfort??

Thanks for sharing these pictures, Maddy! They're great! And the Swan is strong enough to provide comfort for herself! ... although some Eagle and Condor comfort won't hurt!

I agree - the Swan has always been a great role model for strong women around the world.

Here in South Australia it's the Adelaide Cup - a horse race. I think it's appropriate that two female jockeys took out four of the ten races in a sport that is still very much dominated by men!
