Kena just participated in a toy fair in Taiwan. She and her friends put up a Gatchaman section, including the Ken figure we were all goggling at! I thought you might like to see pictures of her display.
Kena also had a Swan costume on display. The mannequin is holding a ribbon, which is supposed to represent Jun's Aurora Ribbon weapon from Gatchaman II.

It is an amazing collection, and all on display at one place at one time!
I also liked these images, though they're not so toy-related:
I want that number 2 shirt SOOO badly, but I can very easily do without those shorts, though! In fact, I might even prefer the "Gatch II/Gatch F" high-waisted, tight jeans over those shorts...
ETA: I just realized that that is Ken's head on the thigh of the number 2 mannequin! Maybe I do want those shorts after all...
I think this is an image from a poster that was displayed there.

Yes, that picture was on display at the Clubhouse for a long time. I believe it was done by one of Kena's friends.
LB, your objection to the shorts wouldn't be that they paired the number 2 shirt with number 1 shorts?
Well, that is an issue! Where are the shorts with Joe's head?
(unless those are small images of Joe on the number 1 guy's shorts -I zoomed in on the image, but it's too blurry to tell)
Actually, at first I just thought the shorts were some gaudy pattern -only when I stopped looking at the shirts did I see what the patterns consisted of. Still, I still find it jarring to see the civvies shirts paired with shorts -I think Ken and Joe would have looked like such goofs if they'd gone around dressed in bermuda shorts in the first series.

There are displays like that at San Diego Comic Con, but usually not for Gatchaman toys. I believe there were some displays for BOTP toys in 2002.
That's correct. While you'll find displays of a lot of different items at the Comic Con, those displays are usually by manufacturers showing off their current and upcoming merchandise. Space inside the convention center is too precious (And too valuable) to dedicate room to nostalgic retrospectives of vintage items. Any displays of vintage items that are there are from vendors who are selling those items.
And, yes, when the BotP merchandising boom hit in 2002, you could find displays of current and upcoming BotP items at several of the vendor booths, most notably Diamond Comic Distributors, Top Cow Comics, and Dynamic Forces. None of them had displays of vintage items, though.
That would be up to *us* the fans to do - if we could afford to buy a booth at the Con.
I have no idea what the cost of a booth would be but it is probably more than I want to know.

A 10' x 10' booth (Booth only, with no tables or chairs) starts at $2,200.00, though you could have bought it for a mere $1,600.00 if you'd paid for it in full at the previous convention.

I figured it had to be on the website somewhere, I really did not want to go searching to discover the prices.
As I said more than I want to know, considering I figure the prices for a table at the local craft sales can be as much as $250. And that is one little 6X3 table - oh and you do usually get a chair as well at these sales.

That is a steep price at the con. No wonder there aren't any nostalgic booths. James, while I would figure that you could have an awesome booth with the things you mentioned in your collection, I would hate to see such good money go to waste. Because with that, you could purchase many other great items.
