I think Hollywood is runny out of ideas like pop and rap artists and are just trying to re-do or/and update classic films. Hopefully this one will be better than the Tom Cruise War Of The Worlds one which to my opinion is cack in very high order.

Have you seen the original 50s film. It's pretty grim.
As for the Day That The Earth Stood Still original, then I am sorry that you haven't seen it. I am sure you could try to rent it on DVD. Okay, it's black and white and it doesn't ahve any CGI but it damm good and it kinda almost make you think, whether with all this technology, we are as civilised as we think we are.

I will try to rent The Day the Earth Stood Still. I don't have a problem with black and white movies, or a lack of special effects -a good story and good acting are what count.
I haven't seen the 50s version of War of the Worlds either! I have seen Invasion of the Body Snatchers, for what that's worth.
Both the black and white version of The Body Snatchers and the 70s one with Donald Sutherland, Elliot Gould and Leonard Nimroy are pretty good ones.
And yes, the original The Day That The Earth Stood Still does have a brilliant story and pretty good acting as well, though I wouldn't mess around witht he android though.

What? Don't know who he is. He has starred in both Bill & Ted's films, Matrix films, Point Break and various other films druing the 90s and this century.
