New Gatchaman Comic Series from Mad Cave Studios!

The subject says it all. Mad Cave Studios out of Miami, FL will be producing new Gatchaman comics to continue the original series' story. Here is their press release

"Mad Cave Studios and Tatsunoko Production have officially engaged to publish Gatchaman comics for adult and teen readers through Mad Cave!

Science Ninja Team Gatchaman is a Japanese animated franchise about a five-member superhero ninja team created by Tatsuo Yoshida and produced by Tatsunoko Productions, with the original anime series debuting back in 1972. The series follows five young superhero ninjas employed by Kōzaburō Nambu of the fictitious International Science Organization to oppose an international terrorist organization of technologically advanced villains who are trying to control Earth’s natural resources, such as water, oil, sugar, and uranium. Recurring themes of Gatchaman involve conservation, environmentalism, and the responsible use of technology for progress.

Under the agreement, Mad Cave Studios will be publishing new Gatchaman stories that take place in the world of the original series setting, staying true to the timeless classic.

“Mad Cave couldn’t be more excited to partner with Tatsunoko and bring Gatchaman back to North America,” said Mark Irwin, Mad Cave Studios Senior VP of Business Development. “We have big plans for the science ninja team, and look forward to sharing their fantastic adventures with readers, new and old.”

Hi all!

Mad Cave Studios will be attending the upcoming New York City Comic Con at the Javits Center, from October 12 - 15! If you can make it, they'll have some exclusive giveaways at Booth 3441, including a new Gatchaman print by artist Inaki Miranda. I believe this is the graphic for the giveaway:




If you're lucky enough to be there, grab enough for all of us please!

Mad Cave will also hold a panel at NYCC about many of their comic titles, including the upcoming Gatchaman series. It will be in Room 406.3, Sunday, Oct. 15 from 1:15 - 2:15pm.

I mentioned it in the other forum, but you should all know Chris Batista is a big fan of the comic. He is a good friend of one of my friends, plus we both went to School of Visual Arts and I believe we graduated the same year. Which means he studied under the greats like Will Eisner and Joe Orlando.
So, I am taking that as a good sign and he may be the one to break the curse.
