A very happy and a prosperous new year 2010 to all! May we still keep in touch and may we all succeed in making the most out of life! Sorry for the late message but yesterday ... yes on New Year's day! ... my DH kept struggling until almost midnight to get rid of a virus that has infected our computer! We still have some problems but I'll try to keep in touch whenever I'm allowed to! Huggles to all!

Year of the Tiger I believe! I am basing this on the Calendar I was sent from the local Chinese restaurant which has a tiger on it so I could be wrong.

Speaking of Chinese New Year, how bout a greeting from one Chinese (although I'm actually a fraction of it) to any Chinese Gatchamaniac here?

-ehem- 新年快樂!!

A dear friend of mine sent this to me for New Year's. I wish to pass along the sentiment to all of you but can't do it in quite the same words as she so I shall leave it as is...

Wishes for the New Year

May your hair, your teeth, your face-lift, your abs, and your stocks not fall; and may your blood pressure, your triglycerides, your cholesterol, your white blood count, and your mortgage interest not rise.

May you get a clean bill of health from your dentist, your cardiologist, your gastroenterologist, your urologist, your proctologist, your podiatrist, your psychiatrist, your plumber, and the nice people at the Tax office.

May you find a way to travel from anywhere to anywhere during rush hour in less than an hour, and when you get there, may you find a parking space.

May New Year's Eve find you seated around the dinner table, together with your beloved family and cherished friends, ushering in the New Year ahead. You will find the food better, the environment quieter, the cost much cheaper, and the pleasure much more fulfilling than anything else you might ordinarily do that night.

May what you see in the mirror delight you, and what others see in you delight them. May the telemarketers wait to make their sales calls until you finish dinner, may your checkbook and your budget balance, and may they include generous amounts for your church and charities.

May you remember to say "I love you" at least once a day to your spouse, your child, and your parent(s).
You can say it to your secretary, your nurse, your butcher, your photographer, your masseuse, your seamstress, your hairdresser, or your tennis instructor, but not with a "twinkle" in your eye.

May we live as intended, in a world at peace with the awareness of the beauty in every sunset, every flower's unfolding petals, every baby's smile and every wonderful, astonishing, miraculous beat of our heart.

Bless you with every happiness, great health, peace, and much love during the next year and all those that follow.

What can I say? She's one of a kind, my friend.

It will be the year of the Tiger, or Metal Tiger if you want to be more precise.

The funny thing is that this year's Chinese New Year will fall exactly on 14 February, the same day as Valentine's day.
Those shops in my town that usually earn lots of money on Valentine's day from selling roses, chocolates and teddy bears will CRY,because people will spend more money on angpao (red packets) for children.
Restaurant owners will cry too because everybody will be having dinner at home with their families, instead of having candle-light dinners in expensive restaurants, Big Grin

Speaking of the year of the Tiger, it will be a lucky and prosperous year for those people born in the year of the Tiger (1962,1974,1986) , Horse (1954,1966,1978 ) and Dog (1958,1970,1982)

Unfortunately for those who were born in the year of the Snake (1965,1977) and Monkey (1956,1968,1980), it will be a year filled with hardship and unpleasant events, so these people should be extra cautious.

虎年进步, Fang Joker.

It doesn't matter that you're just a fraction of Chinese and I am 100% Chinese, it is always nice to meet another Chinese Gatchamaniac here, Big Grin

Saturn, I love that first picture you posted. They look like two little mischievous boys. I don't think I would want them in my class.

I have been suckered into enough situations where those "cute" boys turn out to be little terrors. Of course these ones are also the most memorable students from each year. Devil3

Hmmm, I was born in the year of the dog, but my BF was born in the year of the snake. Hopefully my good luck will cancel out his bad luck, and we'll have an okay year!

I love the pictures, Saturn! Why do I get the feeling that little Joe, despite his sweet expression, is really planning to get Ken in a headlock?

Traditional robes would certainly be an interesting variant to the Team's usual t-shirt and jeans civvies. I certainly don't mind the fact that it's giving Joe a chance to show some leg!

Great pictures Saturn.

And bless you. My husband was born in the year of the tiger, and me the dog; and last year was one of the worst I've ever experienced so some good luck and prosperity will certainly be welcome.

That is what I was thinking when I first saw that picture LB. But when I thought about it I wondered if the boys were not the other way around. Don't we usually think of Ken with the darker hair and Joe with the lighter? Or have I mixed up my information again (and my AU with the series.)

I think the eyes led me to my first thought and then the hair to my second.

**In my AU I think of Mark as having dark chocolate brown hair - almost black, while Jason's is more caramel coloured.**

That IS about their hair colors. It can be a bit hard to tell sometimes, but Ken/Mark is nearer regular dark brown, and Joe/Jason is caramel/burnt umber.

You're right -I always think of Joe's hair as being a lighter shade of brown than Ken's.

So what made me think otherwise here... Looking again at the picture, I realize that what made me think the boy who is about to be throttled is Ken is that his eyes are a more vivid shade of blue (I think of Ken as having bluer eyes) and because his hair parts on the side, and I thought the boy who is about to do the throttling is Joe because his eyes are a bit more greyish and his hair parts in the middle.

Heh, I guess only the artist who did the pic would truly know who is who.
