The closest thing my BF and I have to a song is "One" by U2, which was all over the radio back when we first started dating, though it's hardly a cheerful song.

So there's a new IF? Shows how observant I am...

Goes off to read...

Whoa, I have been unable to login for one week, and there has already been an IF involving JBJ going? darn those blackouts!!really need to catch up with the IF now before the blackout strikes again.

Really remind me of that Gatchaman episode where the Science Ninja Team brought the power back to Utoland which had been hit with blackout.Where are the birdies when I need them?

Dear Condorfan(hope that you are reading this)

I just would like to inform you that I have finally managed to get hold of not just the Gatchaman DVDs (all 105 episodes), but also the complete 3 episodes of the OVA versions of Gatchaman 1994.

I am so thrilled right now and jut would like to thank you again for your previous offer. That was very kind of you indeed.

An IF and 105 episodes (plus the OVA's) all in one week?? You're going to be pretty busy for a while, Saturn!!

Welcome back and congratulations on getting all the DVD's! Enjoy watching them, but just remember to go to bed at some point. The discs will still be there for you to watch when you wake up in the morning! Big Grin

Dear CD and Hinotori

It feels great to finally be back into the board (was totally helpless during the blackout, this was not ordinary blackout we were talking about, it was something like 10 hours blackout in a day for 1 week,
Scary)

Anyway, have really started the Gatchaman marathon, and yes, Hinotori, at one point I only realised that I really had to go to bed after I heard the sound of the morning paper being delivered to my house at 5 AM. Thank God my DH is always a heavy sleeper, he would be livid if he knew about it,Smile

Well, got to go back to my Gatchaman marathon, sigh, wish that someone could help me to tackle this obsession.

Well I think the only way to "tackle your obsession" is to talk about it with friends who love you and know all about what you are going through.
Either that or continue with your Gatchaman marathon until you get sick and tired of the whole thing ... Winknudge (I pray THAT will never happen)

I never found a cure for the obsession! I too used to stay up extremely late watching Gatch episodes, when I first got the DVDs.

Who needs sleep? That's what coffee is for.

Saturn, it is nice to have you back - and I must also say I am a little jealous! I wish I had the entire set before me to ruin my sleep and my relationships! You need a battery-powered dvd player for blackout days!

I am renting the dvds from netflix so I watch the five eps on the disc, pop it in the mail and two days later I get another disc. I am half way through the series because I can't always get to the disc every day. It's killing me, because there are things I can't remember or want to see again so I am going to have to start all over again as soon as I am done!

Dear GoGirl

Yup, it's nice to be back here with you all who definitely can relate to my obsession,Smirk

I still think you are quite lucky because you have companies like Netflix at your place which provide DVDs rental for you. There are no such businesses in my place, all anime are usually for straight purchase and not for rent, and the selling price is not very cheap too. It could be a problem if the anime you have purchased was later found not to be very exciting at all, and to think that you have wasted so much money on it,Sad1

It didn't help that most anime shop owners at my place are only familiar with the most current anime. When I tried to order Gatchaman last time, the shop owner was very confused and clueless that I had to borrow my friend's laptop to show the images of Gatchaman, and even asked him to memorise the theme song of Gatchaman (because I didn't want him to confuse Gatchaman with BOTP or G-Force versions).Well, the positive thing from this is that now the shop owner is also an avid Gatchamaniac like I am,Yippee

I really love my Gatchaman DVDs, the picture quality is flawless, the only drawback is that they are the dubbed versions, and sometimes the voice actors speak unclearly or so quickly that my DH, my brother, and cousins couldn't really catch up with the dialogue. It is fine for me, but sometimes I really feel tired of having to translate almost every dialogue for them.blah2

They also hated it when I skipped episodes as I wished and jumped to episodes that only I wanted to watch. They just don't understand that I am an obsessive shipper and usually I like to focus on episodes that will have the "shipper moments" between a certain two characters.Huggles

I know, I know, I am a hopeless romantic!!!help2

Springie, I guess we both can forget about the popcorn and pizzas, because your hands and mine will be busy with the remote control, replaying the "shipper moments" again and again, Smile

It is nice to know that I am not the only one who is guilty of wearing off the remote control, Alienhehe

Dear TJ

Thank you so much for your sweet message, I have also missed you all in the board.Luvu1

I have been unable to go online for almost 2 weeks already due to some technical problems in my ISP, and the problem is still not solved until now,Mecry

Thank God I have my Gatchaman DVDs to "distract" me from this problem for a while because actually I am an Internet junkie and for me going online everyday is as essential as working or eating,Computer

I don't know why, but I just had a hunch today that I really needed to check on Gatchamania's board to catch up with the latest topics. So off I went to an Internet cafe, and what do you know, there were actually messages for me. Talk about strange coincidence,Circle

I wonder if the ISO was behind this, had we all in the board been mysteriously implanted with chips in our minds for telephatic communication just like our beloved birdies in Gatch Fighter?,Spooked

It's quite possible, Saturn. You never know when the ISO (or Galactor, for that matter) is monitoring our actions. Myabe our secret cerebonic implants are communicating through the central hub at Center Neptuen. But then that would mean that ZARK is monitoring our communications... Ewwwww.... I feel dirty now.

In any case, I'm glad it's just ISP issues and not that you are having issues yourself. We look forward to seeing you around again soon!

That's terrific news Saturn! You are very welcome. Let me know if you need anything that you have trouble finding. (Sorry--I can't find life sized statues of the Eagle!)

I'm usually not bad at locating hard to find stuff. (Although I would like to find a fansub of Gatchaman II and F. Those seem pretty elusive). Hiding

I'm also sorry to hear your ISP is down. I really hate not getting my daily Gatchaman fix in some form or another.

Saturn, I think the horrible day when the site was down gave us all just a taste of awful it must have been for you for the last two weeks! I think you better grab an Eagle and let him sooth away your stress.
